Topic: Poll Compares Popularity | |
---|---|
The relative popularity of various political, ethnic and religious factions are featured in recent polls by the New York Times and CBS.
http://www.nytimes.com/2011/08/17/opinion/crashing-the-tea-party.html?_r=3 It is even less popular than much maligned groups like “atheists” and “Muslims.” Interestingly, one group that approaches it in unpopularity is the Christian Right.

Here are some polls for you..
1. Americans' satisfaction with the way things are going in the United States has fallen back to 11%, the lowest level since December 2008 and just four percentage points above the all-time low recorded in October 2008. 2. Obama job approval 38% approve 55% disapprove 3. Americans' confidence in the economy is weak but stable after ratcheting sharply downward in July. The Gallup Economic Confidence Index registered -53 for the week of Aug. 15-21, identical to the first two weeks of August but well below the -34 of July 4-10 and 20 percentage points below where it stood a year ago. 4. A new low of 26% of Americans approve of President Barack Obama's handling of the economy, down 11 percentage points since Gallup last measured it in mid-May and well below his previous low of 35% in November 2010. 5. Obama earns similarly low approval for his handling of the federal budget deficit (24%) and creating jobs (29%). gallup.com These are the polls that matter. Obama is running for re-election in 2012 not the tea party or the religious right.. Good Luck with that.. |

Its all part of the "blame the Tea party and not Obama" movement that a lot of liberals are doing even in congress. Yes lets blame an organization that is less than 14% of 1/3 of our government. |

Different polls matter differently to different people. Especially when a huge amount of wishful thinking is coloring interpretations.
Obama's approval is quite low with democrats, but of course, we all know that. This is because Obama had turned in a pathetic performance in combatting the Right. I don't think this foretells a surrender of the left to allow the radical right to take the election. Democrats are not going to stay home in 2012 like they did in 2010. The abysmal approval ratings of the Tea Party can only indicate a terrific liability to the Republi Party, which is rated lower than the Democratic Party. So, who's it going to be? Te Party-Perry (can't wait to see that campaign evolve) or Romney (Republi who is not even liked by the Republi Party). BTW, What's John Boner up to these days. Has he retired to spend all his time on the golf course, or is Te Party - Eric Cantor the new leader of Congress? I hope the Te Party continues to do what it's doing. Obama's popularity will never get that low. |

This country needs to quit playing god father and supreme overseer to every country on the planet and start taking care of our own before there is nothing left to care for. |

one of the best ways to become unpopular is to give off the air that you are better than someone else and that your way is the only way but hey what do i know |

One of the best ways to become unpopular is to give off the air that you are better than someone else and that your way is the only way I don't remember inviting a personal insult from you. However, since you want to talk about this, It is noteworthy that popularity is not a goal in political debate. For that matter, I have always felt honored to be hated by extreme Conservatives. That's why I am not a bit ashamed to announce to the world that I am a liberal. (BTW, does your comment apply only to liberals ? Just wondering).

Thank goodness! It seemed like an odd thing to insert into specific thread about various political and religious groups. And just following my post. Since we are taking the thread in a different direction, I think that a good way to become unpopular is to quit bathing and to use foul language excessively. Shalom aleikhem! |
