IS anyone else here to make friends that they can chat with?

Im really not at a point where I can do the 'real time' or physicla relationship right now, but I still am able to communicate quite well via text and telephone in order to get to know people.

I think I keep missing the mark because people are here to find 'the one' or to find a 'relationship'. Im honest about not being ready for that, but Im a pretty cool friend with great future potential as a partner...lol

anyway, my email is open to friends,

can anyone still handle simple 'friendship'?

i don't know what friends are,
but people are usually skeptical when you say you're looking for friends online.
they don't seem to comprehend why you don't have any in real life.
i guess there must seriously be something wrong with you.
it's like looking for a potential mate online is alright,
but looking for friends online is just ridiculous.
that's what it seems like to me anyway.
funny how there's an option to say you're just looking for friends,
yet people ask what you're doing online.
meh.
humans are strange creatures.
i'd say there are some people just looking for friends,
but very few.

I didn't sign up on here to find the love of my life, or as a way to get my "work" published, nor as outlet for my various neurotic anxieties or rabid political viewpoints.

I look at it as sort of an international local pub without the necessity of having to get dressed and actually going anywhere.

Wow. Friends that you can chat with. I am not quite ready for that, yet. Some day I may get there. I am still working on friendship. I have had quite a lot of experience working on being a friend. It has been quite a struggle. My sponsor once told me it was a good idea to be friendly with your friends. He said, "Lets be friendly with our friends." Lately, I have been contemplating the idea of a friend being friendly towards me. To me I think it would sense. I mean if I am being friendly with them I think they should be friendly towards me. Right now the dog and me are doing pretty good. I am having a hard time being friendly with the cat. The dog and the cat seem to be friendly towards each other. I don't know. It might just be an animal thing. I got friends offline at work. I will have to do some more thinking about that of having friends Online that you can chat with. I think it could be possible.

I'm not necesarily here to find the one, either... I love the friends i make here... Thats the main reason i keep coming back here! I think, the overwhelming majority (at least talking about us, the regulars here in the forums) prefer to make friends, and if something else happens from it, thats just an added bonus.... i think anyone would be lucky to be your friend, MsHarmony

I think there are some folks on here looking for friends. They are involved in relationships or married etc.

You seem to be interested in friends that could become more tho.

Anytime you narrow the qualifications, it will yeild a smaller pool.

On the other hand, without trying, I beleive, we, who post in the forums, get to know each other and ARE friends to an extent.

I love it when I don't have to come up with a response because someone else already came up with a better one. This.

Me too...I'm with sweetest! Remember the days of "penpals"? When you wrote to people and sent the letters snailmail laugh . Those were most definately TRUE friendships. We learned everything about each other from the tip of a pen flowerforyou
