What do you like to do on your days off?

I took a vacation day today just for a break from work and spent it at the zoo! The weather was perfect for being outside all day. I got to see lots of animals, including orangutans having sex and a komodo dragon named Murphy.

I have Sundays off, so I do my laundry and chores. Kinda bleh. I would go places but no friends to hang with yet.

i try to go out to the zoo or aquarium, museum of natural history... or at the very least do some laundry and straighten up and do something productive... but this week on my days off... i've been relaxing and playing on here until i can kick this damn cold!

What about a vacation day, rather than a regular day off?

That is half my summer, vacation. I get bored because I don't like going places by myself. A lot of times I drive back 3 hours to see and hang out with friends. You know, go to movies, aquariums, zoos and eating out and just chatting.

If it's just me and the kids are on an overnighter with friends or at their mom's for the summer, I like going go out and exploring. Usually just a long drive with no particular destination. Sometimes looking for places I've heard about and might be interested in visiting. Always with the stereo blasting glasses

Other times, I'll just find a quiet place to sit by the river and maybe read a book or just relax and do nothing at all.

When the young-uns are with me, I might take 'em someplace fun like a lazer-tag arcade, a go-cart track, or a climbing wall. Or I might take 'em to the zoo or the museum.

Most of those kinds of places are quite a distance away (about 175 miles to St. Louis), so we don't go every week. Maybe once a month or so.

Locally, there's lots of outdoor things to do. Sometimes we'll go fishing, canoeing, camping, hiking, or swimming.

Really, it just depends on the mood I'm in and how much energy I feel like I have (and of course how much extra cash I have in my pocket).

Sometimes, I'm just a lazy bum and stay at home watching movies.

What's this day off thing that you all speak of? You mean that everybody DOESN'T work 8 days a week?

If if is just my regular days off which are the weekends then sometimes I plan stuff with my granddaughter or just hang out at the house with no certain plans at all.

If I ask for a extra day off then normally I'm going out of town to meet others from Mingle....

Other then that if I want to go somewhere I do it on the weekends.

Normally just doing what ever comes up..bigsmile
