Topic: where's my email? | |
---|---|
I just got a message that someone sent me an email, but when I went looking for it, i could find no new email. How do I search for a specific screenname and what do you think happened to my email?
Thanks! Tarzansgirl |

I wasn't on and never found an email from that screenname. I am wondering if they deleted their account before I got to read the email. I have had that happen at other dating sites, but the email is still there to read, but when you go to their screenname it says they disabled their account. hmmm, anyone else have any ideas. and while I am here. why does the number of people that viewed me keep going down? It went to 66 and has been going down ever since now for awhile?

Same is happening to me. I sent about 5 messages to a friend, the finally sent one to her personal e-mail. She'd not received any of my JSH mail.

The main reason why you would get a mail notification but not have mail when you get to the site is because the mail was sent to you by a scammer who we have since deleted from the site.
When we detect a scammer, we delete all of the messages that they sent so that no one is lured into their trap. Regarding who's viewed me, we are only showing the people who have viewed you within the last 30 days. So every day, some of the people who viewed you are deleted off your list, while others are added as they view you. That's why the number changes daily. Hope that helps. |

thanks mike, it does help. When you say scammer, what exactly are you refering to? I never get that? Since i have your attention...how about working on getting something, so we can tell when our favorites were last online, another website I go to has that and it is really nice to know. Otherwise, I have no idea if they were just there or if they haven't been on for days. I don't know, for some reason it is nice to know. Thanks for all your hard work.

A very common problem on dating sites is that there are bad people who like to come to dating sites and try to convince innocent people to give them money. They often will tell you that they are from africa or Russia and would like to come visit you but can't afford a plane ticket, etc.
This is, unfortunately, a problem that exists on every dating site but different sites are better/worse at keeping those bad folks out. We put a lot of effort into getting rid of scammers like these before they can even message any users. Every once in a while, though, one is able to get out a few messages before we catch them :( But once we do catch them, we ban them and delete all their mail. Your other idea is a good suggestion, we'll definitely take it into consideration. Hope this helps. |

Thanks again Mike, I appreciate your timely responses. You mean there are actually people out there that still fall for people asking for money. I thought I was pretty naive, but not even I would fall for that one. And my being naive has certainly gotten better after being on these sites and hearing how some people have taken advantage of others. Thanks again!
