It's sometimes gut wrenching where your memories will take you...

I was seven.
The babysitter for me and my brother's was Joanie,a distant relative.
She was thirty years old that summer, but in her mind she'd always be sixteen.
I don't remember all the details but this I know..
I made Joanie cry.
I may have told her she was mean or stupid or both...
and I made her cry.
I know I felt awful for doing that..
and I threw my arms round her saying I'm sorry,I'm sorry
and crying myself.
She comforted me,saying it's okay.
She never told my Mom...
and still I remember the day
I made Joanie cry.

Reminds me of being babysat as a kid, and having a hate on the babysitter because she made us go to bed earlier then our parents said we could go to bed on a Saturday Night..

I did the same thing with my kindergarten teacher. She wanted me to drink my milk and I wouldnt. She sent me to my cubby and I called her a fatso. That was the first and last time I've ever called anyone a name...because I made her cry. Thank you for the memory recall...flowerforyou

i was the babysitter moreso than being babysat, they liked me so much, the parents would ask me to come and visit with them even when they weren't going anywhere, lol. but, still, kids can be unkind, those memories seem to never leave us. flowerforyou
