What it Feels Like

I want to feel the wind
vibrate within my soul
so I can spread my wings
and fly high enough to reach the sun

I want to know what it feels like
to have the seasons
dwell within me
to be a part of what makes winter
so beautiful
or know why
the spring rains
makes the flowers grow
I want to be the heat
of the summer months
to excite the world
with a fire
that can only be quenched
by the changing times
when the cool autumn air
colors the world
with an array of falling leaves

I want to know
what it feels like
to chase life;
grasp its meaning
and hold it tight
learn from it
love it
and then give it to someone
who needs it

I want to soar
and explore
rewrite time
and teach a child
what it means to savior the moment
I want to be beautifully different
yet no different
than anyone else

I want to live
long enough to love
and love enough
to live forever
so when stories are told
someone will remember me
as I remember those who loved me
