Why do all these "woman" ( ,btw, im sure the woman here get the "men")
scammers, want your messanger or yahoo info as soon as they write, do they profit off selling your info,? do they think people will send them money somehow with messanger,? I dont get it ??
it happens all the time, and lots of the time i go back and they have been removed before I can report it, some of them play for a couple of days, .

I'm not sure what they do with it, but apparently some people fall for it and they're profiting from it. A LOT of the time the 'head honchos' remove them in short order, but some slip by for a little while....

They want to get you off site where there is less control of content before they hit you with the, "my father needs a heart transplant" story.

They also can get your addy to send you tons of spam.

each thread topic has a theme. if you start a thread in a place that doesn't fit the theme, a mod will "move" the thread to the right topic theme

This post is spot on. Scammers want to get you offsite, in an attempt to go undetected. I would be leery of anyone who asks for personal contact information, or asks you to send photos.

If you suspect a scammer, please use the 'report user' Link on the email or on their profile. We will investigate, and act accordingly.

Thanks,
Mark

I stil think it was important for new people to know, thats why i cant beleive it was moved and the info about posters was taken away?

The thing that gets me is I'm CONSTANTLY getting messages on one of my regular IMr's (other than the typical unknown person sending nothing but a link). I ask who they are and they say they say me on here. Nowhere on my profile do I mention any IMr that I use, so I guess they'll try anything when phishing. It's also fairly obvious when I check their 'info' and it's a new account, has no actual info and they have an actual name as a screen name, but it's a different name than their email addy! DUH.... Of course they usually have a 3rd grade mastering of the English language at best on top of that. If I'm bored enough I'll actually talk to them (usually without admitting I'm here in the first place). Then they ask things like how old am I, where do I live, etc. Of course the first thing I saw is "Isn't that kind of thing usually on a profile?", or "Don't they have an IM'r or email there?" or something else along those lines. There's some real idiots out there (albeit persistent ones).

We do not allow posting of user names on the forums. Please leave the work to us. We have the tools to confirm whether or not the person is a scammer.

I do understand your reasoning, but on the outside chance you're wrong, you will have disparaged another Mingle2 member, and we can't allow that.

To all of you, please report suspected scammers, by using the "report user" link.

Thanks,
Mark - Mingle2 administrator
