It is you whom is confused. All the word god means is SUPERIOR being. That is why Jesus is OUR God, he is our lord, he is our superior. When the word God is by itself, as in I believe in God, I praise God, I worship God, ect ect, that is referring to God the father or otherwise the person would just say Jesus.
