Chillerama 2011
It's the closing night at the last drive-in theater in America and Cecil B. Kaufman has planned the ultimate marathon of lost film prints to unleash upon his faithful cinephile patrons. Four films so rare that they have never been exhibited publicly on American soil until this very night! With titles like Wadzilla, I Was A Teenage Werebear, The Diary of Anne Frankenstein, and Zom-B-Movie, Chillerama not only celebrates the golden age of drive-in B horror shlock but also spans over four decades of cinema with something for every bad taste. -IMdB.com Featured Directors: Adam Green(Hatchet 1 and 2, Frozen) - "The Diary Of Anne Frankenstein" Joe Lynch(Wrong Turn 2) - "Zom-B-Movie" Adam Rifkin(The Dark Backwards, Psycho Cop Returns, Detroit Rock City) - "Wadzilla" Tim Sullivan(2001 Maniacs) - "I Was A Teenage Werebear" |

If you haven't seen it, you should check out the original Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark, it's one of the best made for TV horror films out there, from the 70's when made for TV horror was as good as theatrical horror. |

The Inkeepers 2011
After over one hundred years of service, The Yankee Pedlar Inn is shutting its doors for good. The last remaining employees - Claire (Sara Paxton) and Luke (Pat Healy) - are determined to uncover proof of what many believe to be one of New England's most haunted hotels. As the Inn’s final days draw near, odd guests check in as the pair of minimum wage “ghost hunters” begin to experience strange and alarming events that may ultimately cause them to be mere footnotes in the hotel’s long unexplained history. From writer/director Ti West(House Of The Devil) |

Joss Whedon's Cabin Gets Release Date
By Harley W. Lond Posted Jul 21st 2011 Here's good news for Joss Whedon and horror fans: The Cabin in the Woods, co-written by Whedon and Drew Goddard finally has a release date - April 13, 2012. The film, now being handled by Lionsgate, has been sitting on the shelf since 2009 due to the financial problems at MGM, which was the original distributor. Cabin stars now-big-time Chris Hemsworth as a young professional who visits a quaint cabin in the woods with a group of friends only to discover something horrifying there. Whedon, according to The Hollywood Reporter, describes it as "the horror movie to end all horror movies." Cabin marks Goddard's directorial debut and co-stars Richard Jenkins, Bradley Whitford, Kristen Connolly, Brian J. White, Amy Acker, Fran Kranz and Jesse Williams. http://blog.moviefone.com/2011/07/21/wong-kar-wai-the-grandmasters-joss-whedon-cabin-in-the-woods/ |

Dream House '11
US Release- September 30, 2011, Worldwide- October 2011 Some say that all houses have memories. For one man, his home is the place he would kill to forget. A family unknowingly moves into a home where several grisly murders were committed...only to find themselves the killer's next target. Successful publisher Will Atenton (Craig) quit a job in New York City to relocate his wife, Libby (Weisz), and two girls to a quaint New England town. But as they settle into their new life, they discover their perfect home was the murder scene of a mother and her children. And the entire city believes it was at the hands of the husband who survived. When Will investigates the tragedy, his only lead comes from Ann Paterson (Watts), a neighbor who was close to the family that died. As Will and Ann piece together the disturbing puzzle, they discover that the story of the last man to leave Will's dream house will be just as horrifying to the one who came next. -IMdB.com Trailer: (Watch at your own risk as I've heard it spoils the ending) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nIeMYPfnST0 |

I'm going to catch hell for this, but the Fright Night remake looks entertaining. Yes, i know the original will be better, but after a decade of "twilight" vampires it will be nice to see the monsters for what they are: blood sucking evil demons.
Also it has David Tennent in the movie, and he was my 2nd favorite Doctor from Doctor Who. |

Also it has David Tennent in the movie, and he was my 2nd favorite Doctor from Doctor Who. I'm curious about it too. I love the casting. I'm not anti-remakes as some classics are remakes themselves- Scarface, John Carpenter's The Thing, The Fly '86, and John Carpenter's Assault On Precinct 13 is a modern-day remake of Rio Bravo, and even the "original" Last House On The Left is a modern retelling of The Virgin Spring. Sadly though, The Howling remake went Twilight. |
