• Corey Owens, 22, a forklift driver from Auburn, Calif., was arrested at 9:30 p.m. Saturday in the 2000 block of North Carson Street on suspicion of felony parole violation, elong robbery and misdemeanor petty larceny. He allegedly tried to leave Safeway with a bottle of stolen booze stuffed down his pants. No bail was set.

He was definately amped up on something cause it took two of us(who are fully trained) over ten minutes to get him fully restrained and back inside the store. This was one of the worst fighters I have had in a couple years. |

awww, ok so you were at safeway when he left with the bottle of booze? safeway carries booze? Ummmmmm, it is a grocery store. They dont sell liquor in grocery stores there? Ummmm, he tried to leave. Not many people get past me........ ![]() One of the companies I work for is Safeway. I am in plain clothes, my badge, cuffs and all that stuff is hidden. I walk around pushing a shopping cart looking like a customer watching people all day. I have to see every part of the theft or I cant stop them and we cant use the cameras much either, we have to physically see it. |

You can buy hard liquor at Grocery Stores, Convience Stores, Gas Stations, Hotels, Motels etc. Bars, Casinos and Clubs are open 24 hours a day and most night clubs don't even start getting busy until after 2am! |

For the most part, here in PA, you can't buy alcohol in regular stores (like grocery or convenience stores). Other than bars obviously (and some restaurants), you have to go to a beer distributor for beer and you can only buy wine and hard liquor at state controlled liquor stores. Just until recently anyway. There's a SMALL handful of grocery stores and convenience stores selling beer now (even though I haven't seen one yet).

I think the way they do it here in Nevada should be common practice across the country. The only way you shouldn't be able to buy it is if your underage or already extremly intoxicated. |
