I haven't seen you around and I wanted to find out if your daughter is feeling better. I saw your picture with your two daughters, they are very cute. And I thought it was only my kids that used me a furniture when watching a movie.

I haven't seen you around and I wanted to find out if your daughter is feeling better. I actually took her Wednesday to the Heath Department's nurse practitioner (who saw her for free) who got the history and gave her a cursory exam (best she could do). Cadence's eyesight is still 20/20 and while she was first concerned it was neurological, there's no associated headaches, dizziness or any other symptoms that accompanies it, so she couldn't think of any other reason for it. She suggested making an appointment with an optometrist (took the appointment for the 28th) since they were better equipped and more knowledgeable and contacted a pediatrician to see if there was anything more they'd suggest. I just got off the phone with the NP an hour ago and she said the pediatrician agreed, to see an optometrist and go from there. Cadence had no episode yesterday, but we're on our way to get the Zyrtec here in a few minutes. I saw your picture with your two daughters, they are very cute. And I thought it was only my kids that used me a furniture when watching a movie. ![]() Thanks. ![]() |

Medicaid is only applicable in the state giving the benefits unless its an emergency

Honestly, her symptoms sound like a simple partial seizure, a form of epilepsy. Lots of kids have epilepsy early on and out grow it, my daughter did. Do the eye problems only happen when she's watching TV or playing on the computer? I saw your picture with your two daughters, they are very cute. Honestly, her symptoms sound like a simple partial seizure, a form of epilepsy. Lots of kids have epilepsy early on and out grow it, my daughter did. Do the eye problems only happen when she's watching TV or playing on the computer? I still don't know, I keep pushing her to tell me when they start and stop, but she hasn't had any episodes the past two days. Epilepsy was the concern (when I mentioned neurological) since my ex has a mild form of epilepsy (though she only has a seizure MAYBE once a year ... it's a very rare occurrence). But as I said (note to Sweetestgirl11: Please pay attention to the course of the conversation), I made the appointment for the 28th and we'll go from there. The ex also made an appointment with the opthalmologist on the 18th of next month just in case. She also apologized for her outbursts. Go figure. |

If it were me, I would try to figure out way to test her vision that fits her interests and abilities, and take a few minutes twice a day to check on her (and keep records). I know this is not likely to 'catch' those moments where she loses her vision, since they seem so rare, but it would give you (and the doc) some (probably reassuring) data points. |

Yeah, I've been doing that several times a day, having her read and count things at a distance. Everything checks out so far. Four days now without incident and four days to go until the doc appointment.
The doc's office has a discount special, if you bring in ten canned goods you get $30 off the exam. That'll help immensely. ![]() |

IF,,she shows no other side disorders,,than a slight blurred vision in one eye or the other,,,it could be a hundred things causing THAT,,and as long as THATS IT,,,I would have calmed my ex down and monitored her well,,like your doing,,,then let your ex's insurance take her to HER qualified doctor back home,,,many doc's have little time to deal with walk ins and they may over-look something that her doc,,would see? But it could be something as simple as dry eye,,to allergies,,to needing reading glasses?
A more deeper issue would be a long shot,,on just a mild blurr in either eye,,from time to time,,,is very common in kids her age,, BUT,,sounds like your on top of it now and please let us know what they say |

eye doctors around here are about 60-80 bucks for a regular appointment (without contact lens fitting). i can't imagine any eye doctor being 3-400 bucks.
i lose sight in one of my eyes occasionally...the eye doctor strengthens my prescription for a few months when it happens...although he did say that without that, i'd probably lose sight in that eye. |

The $300-400 was if she actually needed glasses, which she doesn't. Her vision is still 20/20. I was remarking on worst (financial) case scenario. The 300-400 as compared to 25 when they get home in, now, 2 weeks. She's doing well, now. No blurring in 5 days now and the appointment with the optometrist is tomorrow. |
