i guess it is not so gray for lily

I just have a few things to say about the War and the people we are up against:

1. We are facing an enemy who is not only not afraid to die, but welcome death as if gives them a reward in their religious beliefs. We are afraid to die, they are not. We cannot win if a battle if we decide to retreat every time there is a casualty. Our country has a volunteer army, despite all that happened to our soldiers overseas, keep in mind they CHOSE to serve and take all the risks that came with it. These men and women proudly do their duty, live, and die for this country. It is THEIR choice, and we should honor it.

2. If we pull out of the war now, all the work we've done in the last few years will be reversed unless Iraq has a way to defend it's choice. Keep in mind we are not conquerors truly occupying territory, he are more like the police in this situation, trying to keep the peace.

3. We have more business tangling in other countries affairs than many people think. As the only superpower that will play ball with the U.N. we are officially the U.N.'s enforcers. Regardless of if there were or were not WMD's in Iraq, Saddam Hussein STILL refused to allow U.N. Inspectors to search his facilities. Although he had horrible intelligence, we thought there were WMD's hidden in Iraq and besides that Hussein was a horrible tyrant who treated his people with cruelty. Like it or not, he HAD to be taken out of power.

4. Because we are who we are, since we caused so much damage and left Iraq without a government, we MUST stick around until a government is put in place (Done) and a defense force is properly trained (Not yet done). Do we have to do this? No. Is it causing more lives on both sides to be lost? Certainly. Why are we doing this then? Because we won't just blow stuff up and leave like jerks, we are better than that.


...I don't think I left anything. I absolutely hate this war, so many lives lost, so many stories ended, I don't think running is the answer.
