Those would still use gas, but the plan was to use the gas to run an engine that would generate hydrolic or air pressure. The pressure would provide the energy for movement. The process is more fuel efficient than electric, if they can get everything working right.

I might be interested in one when the batteries no longer weight more than the whole car.

what if all the cars from cash from clunkers were turned into electric

cars cheaply like people were doing? esp for seniors who dont drive

much? if you could plug in at work you could double your mileage 80 mi

per day.i like how the government has control over my everyday

life.telling me to wear a seatbelt or how fast i can

drive, insurance, registration, plates.there putting cameras up on every

corner.but they cant figure out a solution for electric vehicles.if

you want one you have to go through red tape and hand build it

yourself.they say dont wory about electric cars. think about hydrogen.

its almost as if they dont want people to ever drive them.

The problem with electric and electric hybrids is that the batteries weight more than the rest of the car. Once a new battery technology is invented, we'll see almost everyone driving electric cars. If they ever get the traveling wave nuclear reactors working, it wouldn't be impossible to buy a nuclear powered car that would last a lifetime without refueling or anything beyond standard maintenance.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aluminium_battery

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zinc%E2%80%93air_battery

there are about 30 different batteries that people have never even

heard of.the oil companys buy the patent and bury them.we had

electric trollys all over. where are they now? the oil companys bought

them and shut them down.did you know that the first cars were electric?

1890 -2011 what improvements have they made.pittsburgh pa have lost

half there population over th past 30 years yet we have twice the

stop

signs and red lights as we did before.i just saw a show that had

induction highways. you can charge your battery as you drive.but

that

would involve the government getting off their ***** and doing

something productive for the people.look at the dept of

transportation logo

and see if you can find the 3 sixes.thats why electric cars really

wont work.like they say electric cars wont work for

everybody. just 90% of the population.

also they explain all the reasons hho gas doesnt work yet it does.
