Some say soul mates don't exsist,others feel that they do but you only have one.I'am opposed to both theories.This world is to gigantic to only be afforded one soul mate.Fate controls if or when we meet them.The problem is not how many soul mates we have it's if fate will be kind.

To me a soul mate is someone who is completely and totally compatible with you. The thing is it's a big world with lots of people, so either someone can't find a soulmate among the crowd, or is able to find several.

I believe in peanut butter and bananas and the ghost of Elvis. Oh and sharing your germs with the people you love...

I agree with joshy...someone who is completely compatible with you. The ONLY problem is....I haven't found him YET

Gwen, second wife ( deceased 10 yrs) is still my soulmate. I have dated since, been serious about 1, when we parted (still good friends), I did some hard thinking about what I wanted.
For me the feelings left by my soulmate are so strong, I can't get serious enough about anyone else. I look for her traits in anyone I get involved with. I can not get her out of my mind.
Anyone I would try to get serious about, would be #2; just don't think that is fair. So I stay single.
True soulmate's leave such deep feelings, for me there can only be 1.

i have several soul mates in fact i have lost count!!! OH OH OH!!! and they are certainly alive and active in my life and in my days and in my whole existence!!

i am not seperate...and when i am fortunate to weave into anothers life on such a level it is a treasure i do not take lightly, nor do i define it and box it up to fit some preconceived notion of what a soulmate is 'SUPPOSED TO LOOK LIKE".

Whether it's actually possible to have more than one, I don't know.

But with six-billion-some-odd people in the world, you would think the odds would lean in that direction.

Of course, finding TWO out of six billion is quite a feat -- like winning the lottery twice....but that has happened, too....

People have the WRONG idea of what a soulmate is..you CAN have more than one soulmate..a soulmate doesn't have to be a romantic partner..it can be your sister,brother,mother, father..it just means someone you've shared many past lives with.

I think you may be right. There are soulmates and then there are solemates. A soulmate could be taken as the one who is right for you. But what is that based on? A solemate could be taken as there is only one for you and that is the one you might have met or didn't meet. In your definition I would take it to mean someone that you are close to that knows you inside and out to a certain degree and you know them the same way.

I thought a solemate was a good pair of shoes.
