I'm also here to find a girlfriend and run into the same problem that most of the people on this site are here for friends and fun. I am here for the purpose of using the internet to meet someone that I wouldn't be able to bump into during my normal routine at school, work, and home. I would like to find someone who is close enough to me to start meeting and develop a short or mild distance romantic relationship with after a few introductory emails or internet fun. Or someone who is looking to move to a place where they can be nearby a supportive partner. There is also a vacancy in my home that I'm looking to fill. But alas! Most of the members come here for chit-chat and may find my purpose a bit creepy. I suppose the approach of not setting any expectations is healthy, as they will never get let down, but really I don't see how I would be able to achieve any results I were not actively hard working towards them. So thats what I'm here for!!

Why am I here?

Well it started as a place to chat.
Then it morphed into a place to meet people, in real life( yes, you can meet people from this site in real life Virginia.) and meet on line friends.

Then it morphed into a dating site about that same time.

Then I hated this site, the people were judgmental and down right mean to everyone. So I left for a while.

Don't you know it, I couldn't stay away from my friends. So I was back.

Then out of the blue, having given up on meeting someone, I took the time to be nice to one newbie and he ended up being my fiance. So busy with life I did not get to spend much time, if any, on mingle.

Now that he has died I am back at mingle to pass the time and read what others have to say about life, since I do not have one.

What the next phase my life is going to bring, who knows but mingle will be there.

I have an absolute blast here. I spend way too much time on mingle but can't help myself. I post way too much too but if I'm going to be here well I might as well be at home. I'm completely entertained by all that goes on. And who doesn't like attention. It's so much fun to look back at your post and see an answer to what you just said.

AND, some of the people here are just outstanding people and are so hard to keep away from. I not only like people that respond to me but also people who engage each other. I was reading through a thread yesterday where I thought "these guys are totally on a brain wave roll". I think it was the 101 conversation thread. When you see certain people you know what your going to get and that's like attending class to me. It also allows me to be here but yet feel like I am (in a good way) in someone else's life.

the love part of why I'm here

I love the people here so much. Being able to rub up against such beautiful people makes me feel like I'm being dated. I'm nuts about romance and could care less if it's mine or someone else's. Bring it on! My heart leaps when I see love connections or potential love connections. It might be weird I don't know but that feeling that love brings (that electric feeling) happens to me whether it's me or someone else. I always walk away saying "if only" (but in a good way)like when you watch a great love story. Kinda like when you see Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan together. I LOVE ROMANCE!!. Makes me want to scream, well guess I just did.

What do I want. Loud and clear. Your love, my love, God's love and the worlds potential for love.
