What I've come to appreciate is that nobody writes viruses or adware or malware of any sort. I hear a trojan got loose on some RedHat systems once, so it does seem to be possible. It is, however, difficult and there are not so many Linux boxes as to tempt malware authors.

I used to be a Windows only kind of guy until I got to try Red Hat 9. I am not really into the code of Windows or Linux but now I wouldn't want to run anything but Linux. Especially when I got to try to figure out BSD. I just gave up on BSD but Debian uses it and Ubuntu like operating systems so it must be not all bad. Linux has really come a long way since Red Hat 9. Red Hat 9 was pretty cool though. Clear Os is even running a virus program now. It is the popularity angle I figure with the virus, adware and malware plus the web browser I would suspect. waving

I have been trying different versions of Slackware recently. Linus' baby just needs a better Internet connect in my opinion. I tried the Salix OS version for Fluxbox. A little easier in the old dial up connection way but I hope they have a Slackware OS that is better with DSL. By that one I mean that I wouldn't have to configure. I have a mind to try the Absolute Linux OS but before I try any more Slackware I am going to read the documentation. As they used to say, "If all else fails read the instructions".laugh Let me misquote Shakesphere. "To be reading or to be burning? That is the question".happy
