Topic: Burrito... | |

I love this question, it drives some fanatic Religious people nuts!
"Could God Microwave a Burrito so hot that he himself could not eat it?" Discuss. |
HMMMM God really wouldn't need a microwave now would he???
no.
Oh boy, you probably want an explanation :D How about: 1. God is not an idiot. So he would't do it accidently. 2. God is not dualistic. To God, there is no hot/cold. |

Oh don't worry, I had no problem with finding an answer, it just makes fun conversation sometimes.

:D ya nothing wrong with a little harmless fun.
God wouldn't want a burrito. He'd want the whole enchilada! |
what would God need a microwave for
God could just make it so |
God can make a burrito arbitrarily hot, and still eat it.

The question establishes a premise that God even eats. So the question is illogical - because it assumes a premise that is unacceptable.
Usually the question - "Can God create a stone to heavy for him to lift" is the argument used by Atheists to disprove the existance of God because by definition - he should be able to fullfill both ends of the question - while logically he cannot. By the way - this question too is illogical, because it assumes the premise that God exists in the physical - which he does not, so the question is illogical and can have no answer - therefore it does not substanciate the proof that God does not exist. |

Nicely done all, these are precisely the answers I was hoping you people would come up with. No worries, The Burrito question (Or typically the Heavy stone question) was usually just a fun one to throw at the religiously unenlightened for a cheap laugh.

Joshyfox, I noticed you like sci-fi with the Doctor Who clips. I liked them, thanks. Have you ever got a chance to see the movie, "Monsters of the Id"? It is similiar to your question. In the old movie and an advanced ancient civilization created a machine that created for them anything that they could imagine. The trouble was though they did not account for the monsters of the id.

Hey eljay, I am not trying to bust your bubble or anything bro, but can you PROVE god doesnt exist in the physical realm? I know I can not prove he does, but can you prove that he does NOT? |

1 Kings 8:27 ============================================================= But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded? ============================================================= John 4:24 ============================================================= God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth ============================================================= |

God is Spirit ... consciousness...energy ... light
why would he want to absorb all that dense, heavy, slow, physical earthly energy? |
But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded?
this statement says that existence can not contain him true, however it does not say anythign about him taking physical form. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth This does state he is a spirit yes, but we are all spirits in truth. We just occupt a human shell until our spirit is freed form its encasement. and we do worship HIM in our spirit. But this does not say HE is not physical. Everything in existence takes up space in one form or another (gas water liquid matter etc). Same for spirit. So inthis sense yes he is physical. |

Daniel;
You asked: "I know I can not prove he does, but can you prove that he does NOT?" Surely you jest. It is absolutely impossible for a mere man to prove that ANYTHING "does not" - for in order to do that, one would have to be omniscient and omnipresent. This goes for anything anyone would attempt to prove does not exist. It might be impossible to find proof that a unicorn exists - but it is impossible to prove that one doesn't. lj |
