Topic: How do you get past living like your married? | |
---|---|
I have been divorced 2 years now and I still live like I am married! Can
anybody give me advice how to get passed this? I won't start slinging crap about the ex. I have tried to get her back only to get slammed down again. I really don't get out much because I am not comfortable going to bars. Any ideas or advice? Nerves |

what's up nerves, have you completely let go of her? the only advice i
could give is to move on with your life and leave her in the dust man. i hear from alot of divorced people that it is tough to break the routine even when it's not there and especially if you weren't quite ready for it to end. bars aren't all they are cracked up to be anyway, try getting involved in some sort of club or something that interests you were you will be in regular contact with some new people. it will be alot easier to break the ice if you have seen each other around. even if you don't find a lady right away you may make some new friends. maybe altering your daily routine slightly will expose you to a different group of people. good luck |

First, quit living in the past, she's gone, and by your own words she's
not coming back. Second make your life about you, not about her or the past or even the one you'll meet in the future. Redecorate to what you like, go learn something new, take a course at your local college, or learn to drive a race car, fly a plane, do what you like. There is always interesting single people to meet in most situations. From your photo I would guess your in your 40's,, that would make you somewhat younger than me, but I have dated some 20 year olds and had a blast. Bars and clubs are not the only place to meet new friends, in fact I have never met a person I have dated in a bar. And thats another thing, I have some females that I am only friends with, and that makes it nice to have someone just to chat with, no strings attached. It makes for a very open line of communiction. Male friends are even easier to make, but it is man's natural nature to want females,or most men anyway. So get out there and make you some friends, there has got to be thousands of these friends or singles web locations too. Get your profile and what the type of person you would like to meet on more than one. An don't profile someone like your ex explore new possiblities. Good Luck !!!!! |

Thanks for the replies. I recon I'm still wishing, but I am sure it is
over for us. I am taking 1 day at a time trying to get over this crap. I made a stand 3-4 weeks ago and said no for the first time. You would think that 17 years means something, guess not! Nerves |

Hiya Nerves
King and Un gave you some real fine advice there, and I would add more to your profile, things you like to do, more about yourself and what your looking for. We women really tend to respond more to a well written profile than just a few lines. jmo :) J |
