I'm getting a new computer and I'm giving my old one to my son. Do I just delet everything on it? I don't want my personal stuff to fall in the wrong hands. Please explain with simple words,I'm not computer smart,still learned new things. Thanks for any help.

The only sure fire way of killing the possibility of information getting out of your hands is format and I mean use Active Killdisk on it or some other formatting software and wipe your hard drive and reinstall the OS. That is the only way to be sure.

Alternate idea. Buy a new hard drive appropriate to the computer and reload your OS on the computer. Then use the old hard drive as a gun target or vent on it with a hammer real good.

Those are the ONLY two ways to be sure! Those are the only two methods I would recommend.

And don't think I am joking either!
