At his press conference on Wednesday, President Obama scolded the media for focusing on his birth certificate instead of more important issues.
He started the conference by calling out NBC's Chuck Todd directly. "I can't get the networks to break in on all kinds of other discussions," he said. "I was just back there listening to Chuck—he was saying, it’s amazing that he’s not going to be talking about national security. I would not have the networks breaking in if I was talking about that, Chuck, and you know it." He then said that part of the reason that he wanted to release the birth certificate was because he was seeing coverage of the issue dominate the media, rather than discussion of the federal budget or other issues. While the issue has certainly been heavily covered, the Pew Research Center pointed out that discussion of the birther issue made up for just 4 percent of the news coverage during the period Obama cited in his address. However, Donald Trump was the second most covered newsmaker last week, and his recent media appearances have been almost exclusively related to birther issues. "I’m speaking to the vast majority of the American people, as well as to the press," Obama http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/04/27/obama-scolds-media-birthers_n_854292.html?icid=main%7Chp-desktop%7Cdl1%7Csec1_lnk1%7C211150 |

Yes he needed to put a stop to this sillyness, and get on to things that were more important that are going on in this country. Like going on Oprah and then attending 3 fundraisers right after the press conference.

As long as the viewing public appear to prefere gossip to news...
the news services will continue to produce gossip instead of news. |

It took Donald Trump to get the long-form birth certificate shown LOL. Idiot Obama must be worried about competition come the elections. Of course, that was about the only task Obama is capable of doing anyways. No biggie. He's still a closet Muslim.

Hawaiian legal statute:
"[§338-17.8] Certificates for children born out of State. (a) Upon application of an adult or the legal parents of a minor child, the director of health shall issue a birth certificate for such adult or minor, provided that proof has been submitted to the director of health that the legal parents of such individual while living without the Territory or State of Hawaii had declared the Territory or State of Hawaii as their legal residence for at least one year immediately preceding the birth or adoption of such child. (b) Proof of legal residency shall be submitted to the director of health in any manner that the director shall deem appropriate. The director of health may also adopt any rules pursuant to chapter 91 that he or she may deem necessary or proper to prevent fraudulent applications for birth certificates and to require any further information or proof of events necessary for completion of a birth certificate. (c) The fee for each application for registration shall be established by rule adopted pursuant to chapter 91. [L 1982, c 182, §1]" Everybody get that? As long as an adult can walk into Hawaii's version of the Department of Records and provide proof that they are a legal resident of Hawaii, the document is issued. The child, on the other hand, could have been born in Hawaii, Kenya, or a back-alley in Budapest. |

As long as the viewing public appear to prefere gossip to news... the news services will continue to produce gossip instead of news. We live in a Sitcom culture. Present the issue, discuss it and solve it in half an hour. Any longer than that and you start loosing people... for a very long time they wouldn't make movies over 2 hours long, usually edited to 90 minutes because, "People won't sit that long for a movie." So, the only thing that matters is what people are talking about right now. |

The President knew the birth-er deal was a bunch of media hype. My fellow journalist get bored and run out of news so every couple months when some radicals bring it back up they cover The birth-er issue. The President was just trying to be the bigger man and let it die. Donald Trump, However , got so many people in a frenzy about the issue The president had to shut him up before the political turmoil. Honestly Donald Trump lucky he is not getting sued. By technical means Donald Trump could have been charged with slander or Libel. That wont happen im just saying don't take this guys political advice. |

nobody read the article, either... it was the same thing they posted 4 years ago, a certificate of live birth, not a birth certificate... By the way that is simply not true. If you have a document certified saying you where born in the U.S.A. Then that is your birth certificate your getting to caught up in the name. |

Who have to take a test to get the certificate and still On the certificate it will say that this person is an American Citizen that was born in a different country. Our Nations President certificate of live birth does not say that. It says under Place of birth in Big Black Letters Honolulu. Stop trying to argue with certified government documents your not going to win. |
