Topic: just yes or no. | |

We're assuming that the reason this other person stopped talkng to her is because of the picture. that's not a good assumption. Is there something else in the mix? Something reconciliable? A misunderstanding, perhaps. I would want to know if it was me. Whoa, I wasn't assuming that was the reason at all.... |

fact; the painting is done. and she's aware of that. In that case Heck NO, if she isnt even talking to you...whats the point? I mean how close were you two anyways. Make sure no-one using you, for a nice piece of art. |

yes; 6.
no; 2. maybe; 2. |

lets say you have a best friend. and she asks you to make a painting for her. so you do. but you're not going to let her see it or know what it's of til you're done. and throughout the whole process you keep telling her she will eventually get it. you keep working on it. and you promise her that no matter what, even if it's ten years from now, you WILL give her this painting because it's hers. but then she completely stops talking to you. she just ignores you. haven't heard from her in over a month. do you still give it to her? My art is an extension of me. There are times when it takes me a long time to finish just one and if I gave it to someone and I know she would not care for it, I would be deeply hurt. If a person would stop talking to her best friend just because she got impatient waiting for the fruition of her request, she is not much of a friend to begin with. The answer is no. |

I guess I should say that the ten year thing is an exageration.
it was just used to show that even if it wasn't finished overnight, it would eventually get done no matter what. and the amount of time spent working on it is not the reason for not speaking. I'm not sure what her reason is actually. bottom line is; I have til the end of this month to either; wrap it and ship it. or burn it. |

I kind of got that the ten year thing was somewhat of an exaggeration, but I did not want to assume. We all have our own metronomes. I had a similar situation once where the friend kept bugging me about her request and I just hate it when I am pressured to do something.
If I were to be asked for an opinion, I would just keep the art. Put it in storage, if I have to. It is something like a recorded insight. You may not like it now, but it may prove useful in the future. |

yes you should ship it
its up to your friend to decide wheather to burn it or hang it up who knows maybe after she sees the painting she'll realize what a mistake she made for not talking to you all this time or she'll explain why she stop talking to you |

No. You're both not speaking anymore. She's in the past. I'd finish it, and give it to someone who is still your friend.

Dont look at what she has done to you. Go with your feelings. See what you would like to do...
If I had a dear friend for sure will give it to her and make her get back to me and clear the air :) good luck dear ! |

If it takes a friend ten years to finish a painting for me, it says to me I am not that important to her. So I blow her off, and would no longer want the pic anyway, so NO, dont bother.. NO. I see it a different way. If I asked someone to do a painting for me (my idea, not hers) then I can't demand it be done in a certain period of time. It would be rude of me to ask for the painting, then get upset and blow her off when it wasn't done quickly enough. To answer the OP's question, yes, I would still give it to them. |

Hummm lets see if I had worked on a project from the heart for a friend and they just completely stopped talking to me what would I do. Once it was finished I would wrap it up and store it then I would call them and say hey we have not talked for a while was wondering what was going on. I would precede to tell them the project was done and ask them when we could get together to give it to them?
Therefore leaving it in their court after I have put my foot forward first. That way I lived up to my promise it is up to them to come pick it up. At times friends quit talking to each other due to other things in life and we should not let our feelings get hurt cause life has taken some down a different road. |
