i've done it three times. Here is what I found.

The first two times, it worked wonderfully. Without the carbs, your pancreas does not get the signal to produce insulin, which is needed to convert raw fats into body fat. I lost about 2 and a half pound a week without working at all hard. The third time, it didn't work at all. Apparently, as I understand it, your pancreas eventually figures out what you're up to and produces the insulin without the carbs. This is really dangerous, because you think you're losing weight, all the time turning all the fats you're eating into body fat.

Its good for losing a lot of weight quick because you cut out most if not all crabs. you just have to be careful though because as soon as you get off the diet and start eating carbs...it comes right back.

I honestly wouldnt suggest it un less your just looking for a quick fix to lose some weight for an upcoming event or something. The body needs carbs for energy. With out it...you may lose some weight, but you probably wont have the same energy level.

But again...simply my thoughts. I could be wrong and it could work great for you. Good luck either way.

I'm doing protein power, kind of the same thing as Atkins. Basically, it's a lifestyle choice, not a diet. Don't do it if you just want to use it as a diet. On any low carb diet, you have to drink lots of water. Lots of water. A good fiber supplement wouldn't hurt for the first couple weeks. Just make sure you look at the carb content of everything you eat and stick to low carb food. 1.5 cups of brocoli has as many carbs as 3 french fries and a whole lot more nutrition. You have to make smarter decisions.
