Anyone? Anyone at all?
I've been inputting my parents book collection and they've held on to a lot of books we had growing up like Nancy Drew and such. Does anyone periodically go back and read a book from when they were growing up? I enjoyed rereading Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH again. |

I gave a copy of all of Hans Christian Anderson's fairy tales to my cousin so she could read them to her kids. She thought it was a great gift.

I still have the majority of my childhood books, I did read one of the Hardy Boys books I have again a few years ago when I got the first season of the Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries on DVD, one episode had the same title (The Flickering Torch Mystery) as one of the books so I was curious to see if they were the same, they weren't, they used the title but not the plot, but from what I've read my version of the book is the revised edition and it's vastly different from the original published in the 1940's. So there's 3 Hardy Boys stories with the same title but different plots.

I started reading sci- fantasy as a teen. gave them to my 2 boys to read a couple of years ago and they loved them. Dragonlance series, myth series, spellsinger series and Lord of the rings. I had a blast rereading them. |

I remember the choose your own adventure ones! Those were fun!
My folks have gobs of our old books, and I've been trying to get them documented for insurance. It's kinda slow going as I wander back through them. Fun memories! |

I bought two of them at the half price book store. One was a vampire hunt and the other was "The dragons ransom" The dragon one was really nice |

You were a kid visiting relatives during the summer, and your uncle owns a factory which you learn is involved in espionage. Don't recall the title. |

(D&D) I did a little D&D with dice in school, and eventually got into a live-action RPG called Amtgard. That was way more fun. |

(D&D) I spent the majority of the 80's playing paper & pencil RPGs late into the night - Dungeons & Dragons, Top Secret. Also played various war games like Battlecars. |

I read a lot when I was a kid. All of the Nancy Drew and Babysitters Club books. Those choose your own adventure ones, too. I don't have any of those books here, though. But, I do have a big book of Curious George stories .
Madeline was a big favorite when I was little as well. And One Monster After Another. I tend to give these and Curious George books as gifts to my friends' kids. |
