Good lord. Doing a little bragging is just a little story tellin. I got all kinds of storys...........smokin

that's cool I love stories (mine are true ones tho - I don't necessarily equate bragging with a lack of the truth)

I also love candy wrapped in plasticflowerforyou

tootin' mah horn time, eh?

I have a bad habit of not acknowledging my accomplishments so for once I will give it a go.

First in my family to get a Bachelor's degree and pursue a higher degree!

Accepted into Texas A&M genetics program!

One publication thus far and working on a manuscript now!

Figured out how to get high quality RNA out of cattle hide ('tis not easy to grind leather into powder)

I have struggled through my journey here, but am now getting to where I need to be to graduate soon & my boss is really proud of me right now! Hopefully, by December I will have the title of Dr. added to my name :) guess I can really brag then!

oh yeah, trained my own horse from start to finish...she is a nice safe trail mount!

as a girl I should brag that I can fix & maintain my own dang truck! pretty proud of that

I really liked your resume. I have been a crappy trainer with my boy. He is a very spoiled 4 year old and I hate to hurt his feelings. Bravo!

Lets see...A 1220 on my SATs (that was good back when I took them, I hear they added stuff and the scoring is different now), Achieved my BS in Education in 2007, working on a Masters Degree in Adult education now (Currently maintaining a 4.0 average).

I have other, smaller, sillier accomplishments, like reading the first Twilight novel in one night (started around 6pm, finished at 2am) or pulling a 12 page all nighter starting at midnight the night it was due, and turning it in a noon that day to achieve a B+ from the hardest English prof on campus.

I have four degrees, including a Master's Degree in British Literature and Creative Writing.

My other claim to fame is getting suspended from these forums for being condescending and patronizing because, in part, I told people that I have degrees to give myself "credentials" when I made statements.

I wonder if I will get kicked off because I mentioned this in a "bragging" forum?

I have 4 scientific research papers published in scientific journals from my research on the effects of morphine, methadone and buprenorphine on neonatal respiration. (all drugs related to heroin abuse)

And two US patents from when I worked as a process engineer in silicon crystal growth.

I am currently pursuing a PhD in BioInformatics and doing research on the genetic components of the effects of alcohol on blood flow patterns in the brain. It aint good folks...

There I tooted my own horn...that's really hard for me...I tend to down play my accomplishments...until someone points them out.. I never think I'm doing very well...

not at all -great accomplishments - while formal education is not the only way to learn and experience is often the best teacher

it is even better when combined with formal training! Earning your degree(s) takes a lot of work, persistence and goal - setting. accomplishments to be proud of - don't let the jealous get u down.

some people find school intimidating and downplay the value of that knowledge because they don;t understand it

at the same time a degree - in business (for example)- is no substitute for running one

experience is important too

I am studying the immune response in cattle infested with Lone Star ticks! I am working crazy hours trying to get all my data collected and start writing...hoping to defend early Fall this year scared

So much to do in such little time!Hoping to have my debut first author paper submitted next month and then another this summer, but I don't want to have to pay tuition this fall so I slave away!

Taking my oral preliminary exam on April 29th! I have 4/5 committee members that have told me how proud they are of me lately so I am considering that a good sign. The tattoo is actually a good luck charm (just not drawn the traditional way that the dragon and phonix were potrayed)

thanks sweetest! My dad taught all his girls about maintaining our vehicles so that we were more independent.I was the only one actually into doing regular maintenance (oil chages, fuel/air filters, and minor repairs. I have a trused shop for everything I can't or won't fix!

funny story...had a blowout on a trailer while hauling some mustangs & my friend wanted to call her roadside and I had the tire changed and us back on the road before the could get there!

This is NOT from my research but is a favorite of mine to show college students when I give a lecture.
My research is unpublished and so I can't post it here. I do imaging in the mouse brain.

I forget where I got this image from.

White matter shrinkage and enlarged ventricles. This person is probably severely impaired both mentally and physically. Only 43 years old. Yikes!...that's a scientific term meaning oh my god!

I kept my business alive during the past two years despite the bad economy, a developer going bankrupt and screwing my company out of a quarter of a million dollars, and alot of the competition closing their doors.

There was a time I did'nt even take a paycheck for almost 5 months, but I survived, and even opened up a 2nd company.

Now the sky is the limit, all because i did'nt give up when times got tough.
