Ok..I was watching this news program called America Now,this morning..It's a pretty interesting show..very informative..today they did a story on a guy in prison using a cell phone to have a face book account..They actually showed some of his posts bragging about how he can have pretty much anything he wants now that he's in jail and NOW he doesn't have to pay for it cuz,of course the state does..He actually used the account to talk to family,friends and his wifes family..Oh yeah..Did I mention that he lists his marital status as "widowed"..which is true..because HE killed her..stabbed her 8 times!..Why in the hell are people in PRISON able to be online!?..I swear people do things to get locked up because they KNOW they will get better treatment and everything they want and need for FREE!..What the hell happened to the days of prison being all about bread and water?..These people are living better than most of the free world..It's insane..Should these people not be monitored?

they sue the state cos their civil rights are being abused and some chicken s--t judge will give them what ever they want..

i got a email in myspace which i hardly ever go in there anymore
and the email i got was from a guy in prison
and he was actually online
so i called the jail he was at
cant recall where he was but they said that he may had a friend of his put the profile up for the ex cons cant and dont have any access online
i delete his invite for being a friend..
thats the last thing i need

Queene..The guy at the jail LIED to you..The guy in the report was getting online from inside the jail ON A CELLPHONE!..How the hell he got a cellphone into the jail is beyond me but HE was online posting for himself saying things like "I didn't know that jail was so sweet I would've come sooner"

we should organize a jailbreak and get him out just to piss him off

but srsly no one who stabbed someone 8 times to death should ever see the light of day or the LED on a cell phone- ur story is just creepy

Stuff it up their azz & you can pretty much carry anything in that'll fit!!! Most states it's against the law to do a cavity search. Anyone snitches...we'll they end up falling in the shower if you know what I mean!! Survival of the fittest!

Sleep in tents.
An ate cold sandwiches.
That is how all Prisons should be run.

I dont think prison should be inhumane - not at all. We are the better part of our love for our fellow humans to treat prisoners with Christian dignity, but they do not deserve to live a life better than what the typical American lives on the outside tho

Im not saying to be inhumane either.
But I dont see were they need to be given everything.
If prison is made to be Hated. In that I mean not the place you want to live out the rest of your life. Then fewer people will want to take the risk of going back.

That is what prison should be.
They still have a roof over there head. They still get food three times a day.
They still have clothes on there back.
Do they get Ac. nope. Do they need ac to live. Nope.
They are safe from the weather. they are fed an clothed.
That is all they need.
In the end they don't like it an don't want to go back to they improve they-er behavior an do what is right.

I agree- it is supposed to be a deterrent and as such it should be.

Most of our prisons,,are ran by the gangs,,as for anyone getting punished by a correctional officer in one,,,their gang leaders
are told who was bad,,,and the gang deals with it,,,now ain't that the siztsss?
Then we wonder,,,what the hell have we come down to as for them to even feel their institutionalized?

I worked in the prison system for 17 years (as a secretary) until 2003 -- at the time I left, the inmates were not allowed any access to a computer that had internet access. They were also not allowed any cell phone access, for obvious reasons (planning escapes, setting up drug deals, setting up hits on people outside, etc.) -- before their attorneys went to see them they had to leave their cell phones in a locked area and not take them inside. The only access they were allowed to have with family and friends was through visitation and through collect calls they made on prison phones to these family members.

They kept a pretty tight leash on the guys when I worked there, the officers work hard to keep staff, the public and other inmates safe from each other.

it's in arizona and it's actually just a county jail and the guy is a sheriff.
