its nice to know that there are so many scientists on this site.

I was young, stupid, and a bit disenchanted...

Earth Systems Science and Astrophysics are the fields I should have pursued in college. I learn and understand it very easily, and once I start learning it is like an addiction because my mind starts connecting the pieces together sparking my interest to new heights. I have a number of books about it, but alas, I tried to rebel against math and science because I found it too easy. I aimed for being more well-rounded instead.

I think that there is climate change going on all the time and will continue as long there is an earth. How many Ice Ages has the earth been thru? The earth is going to change with or without us and it doesn't care which one. As far as Al Gore goes, I think he feels it is his civic duty as a public figure to bring attention to such things, just as Jimmy Carter does for Habitat For Humanity. Don't forget George W Bush, he is a um, aaaa ah um, well forget George Bush!laugh

0.0387% of the atmosphere is CO2.

When the Earth was warming, so was every other planet in the solar system. During that same time, the sun was more active. Now that solar activity is decreasing, the earth's temperature is dropping.

Solar activity is INCREASING and will for at least another decade.

Proof: SpaceWeather

Solar sun spot activity.

From 2004 to 2009 solar activity reference to sunspots averaged 420 days without sunspot activity.

in 2009 that number changed by roughly 50% (average 260 days without activity).

in 2010 that changed to an average of 51 days without solar activity.

so far in 2011 we have averaged 0 days without sunspot activity...

i.e solar activity is INCREASING not decreasing.

What do you base that claim upon? I'm going by NOAA research...

Al Gore is Global Warming. he is so full of hot air every time he opens his mouth the temp around him rises five degrees! When he farts a spotted owl dies in the woods!

Don't just blindly accept the 'current' explanation for things...

Research it your self.

Get that data base for PHA's (one place it is available is SpaceWeather).

Compare the data for close approach with weather databases for the same timeframe...

and feel the tingle that comes when data bases match up.

You can even TRIANGULATE the upper atmospheric disturbances Directly to objects so well that it is possible to TRACK an object that still has not been confirmed with enough accuracy that you can put a telescope on it with but a bit of effort.

Not only that but I am currently comparing geological events with the same data base... and the results are tending to the same conclusion.

Just because no one else has done a thing does not mean that thing is wrong...

Make the effort.

You can even claim the idea was yours... I care not.

Wow. Um...thanks for the offer, but I was looking at the raw data on the NOAA website. You would have been able to guess that if you had clicked the link.

Sorry answered the wrong one last time... I can not tell you... Project is under 11 year 'revaluation' of classification of results (some of us will know what that means).

Suffice to say that I took part in a solar measurement project to ascertain possible effects globally of solar output on phone systems, power systems and orbital systems... I can tell you for a fact that 2011 is the year of a 'high cycle' in solar output.

You can find simular data on a site that specializes in space weather science...

Not some claim of 'progression' but ACTUAL data.

If that does not satisfy you then find a site that 'measures' auroral activity for north and south poles. They have data bases that show increase of activity also.
