I do however suggest you brush up on your history. If you think the National Socialist German Workers Party is left wing I have some swamp land for sale. You are absolutely right! They were pro-Eugenics. like abortion and trying to eliminate the mentally unfit. (let's ignore the fact that it's left-wing charities that seek genetic markers than can identify if a child has autism while the mother is still pregnant. They have already done that with downs syndrome and now 90% of downs syndrome babies are aborted.) They were pro-nationalizing all businesses. (I'm glad our Government hasn't bought any car companies and doesn't own the only major passenger train line) They were pro-Nationalized Healthcare (Only far right wingers would support nationalized healthcare in the USA) They thought that the Government should supply it's citizens with jobs, rather than private businesses doing that. (Like like Republicans, how they are all anti-business) They supported large scale old age pension schemes. (Republicans are very fond of social security) They repudiated property rights. (Republicans totally backed the Kelo decision) Etc, etc, etc |

%Different governments today use a variety of government systems, communism, democracy, monarchy etc.... Does this mean there is a monopoly on thought? I don't think because Obama meets with one idealogical thinker he prescribes to every principal of thought that man beleives. This works in reverse as well so when you try and use guilt by association it's ignorant! The cheif reason for gridlock today as well partisan politics! We need solutions and good ideas come from both sides of the aisle, just 94% from the right!

private, Hitler also said that "I absolutely insist on protecting private property... we must encourage private initiative".[9] On yet another occasion he qualified that statement by saying that the government should have the power to regulate the use of private property for the good of the nation.[10] Hitler clearly believed that the lack of a precise economic programme was one of the Nazi Party's strengths, saying: "The basic feature of our economic theory is that we have no theory at all."[11] While not espousing a specific economic philosophy, Hitler employed anti-semitic themes to attack economic systems in other countries, associating ethnic Jews with both communism ("Jewish Bolsheviks") and capitalism, both of which he opposed.[12][13] Hitler also believed that individuals within a nation battled with each other for survival, and that such ruthless competition was good for the health of the nation, because it promoted "superior individuals" to higher positions in society.[14] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of_Nazi_Germany A free history lesson I don't know why you posted this. If you did it to support my point that the Nazis weren't right wing and were actually left wing, then thank you. If you posted it because you think it supports the idea that the Nazis were right wing, then you obviously didn't understand what you read. |

Seriously?
Many conservatives accuse Hitler of being a leftist, on the grounds that his party was named "National Socialist." But socialism requires worker ownership and control of the means of production. In Nazi Germany, private capitalist individuals owned the means of production, and they in turn were frequently controlled by the Nazi party and state. True socialism does not advocate such economic dictatorship -- it can only be democratic. Hitler's other political beliefs place him almost always on the far right. He advocated racism over racial tolerance, eugenics over freedom of reproduction, merit over equality, competition over cooperation, power politics and militarism over pacifism, dictatorship over democracy, capitalism over Marxism, realism over idealism, nationalism over internationalism, exclusiveness over inclusiveness, common sense over theory or science, pragmatism over principle, and even held friendly relations with the Church, even though he was an atheist. http://www.huppi.com/kangaroo/L-hitler.htm |

Hitler advocated whatever worked for his benifit. He spoke the right words... then took whatever actuall steps HE needed to accomplish his goals. and he surrounded himself with like minded individuals so that his 'upper' cabinet would support those goals. Just look at the Nazi flag. In order to be 'true' to what that twisted symbol represents one would have to 'twist' to reach the center and 'lie' to keep the middle class pure... While building your 'ideal' nation upon the blood of the poor or outcast... Symbols can show the truth for years and yet how many see that truth. |

There is no ACTUAL "left" or "right"! There have been many papers, therories an such written and put in place for government. Hitler was for the most part an extremist and yes mostly right but also left on issues as well, as in the nationalist socialist party. The very name says right left party. Nationalism a right wing issue and socialism being a left wing issue. Like i said before there is no monopoly on thought and hybrid governments are the norm not the exception. It's ironic though when you see liberals side with extreme right wingers like muslim groups and dead against christian groups. Politics make for strange bed fellows! |
