Topic: People behind the curtain | |
---|---|
This post is pointed at BOTH sides of the political spectrum. When either side gets some dirt that our illustrious media outlets has given about the other side; you can almost see the agreeing poster's text literally bursting with the orgasmic glee that exudes from their fingers as they copy and paste.
Truth is, people quote some website, proclaiming them to be honest and unbiased, but they a simply a smaller part of the bigger media. ALL media is biased and report things that - especially in politics - keep the general populace divided and bickering over things we can't change in order to draw your attention away from the man (people) behind the curtain. Hell, I've worked at newspapers and where do you think the majority of the news comes from? Over the line directly from a satellite that broadcasts AP (Associated Press) stories. Read the bylines sometimes, only about 30-40% of the stories come from in house sources (less in smaller papers.) The rest is pasted in to fit. Another thing that gets me is people quoting polls like they're the gospel. Do yourself a favor, sign up for a statistics class, read the first few chapters of the textbook, and then tell me you have as much confidence in polls as you used to. There are FAR too many variables for polls using a under a random sample of 100,000 from every state for them to be even close to correct. +/- %5 my ***..........more like %40. LOL rant over.......... |

This is why I get my news from a site called Fark.com It posts links to the news story but the headlines are always a joke (unless its too serious to joke about). And the forums are insane too. Its nice to see that people don't take news so seriously like they do on this forum or in life in general.
