Topic: I am dumbfounded... | |

Seriously I am! I turned off my IM's on here years ago cause young guys<18-30> would send me nasty IM's.. My choice . and I think I'll stick to it, however.. I can say this, most all of the young ones who have ever asked me to be their friend on here are the most intelligent loving souls I have ever met! Perhaps more so than the guys my age on here in ratio! I want to say this.. I am glad I never put a age limit on who can email me.. for I have learned so much from so many young people on here! male and female both.. life is precious and each person <age not mattering> has so much to give. wondering if anyone else on here has noticed this? and I am dumbfounded as to why younger gals don't sweep these intelligent kind men off here!I also would like to add.. as it seemed 4 yrs ago i got so many nasty IM's the last 3 yrs i have spoken to in emails 40 times more in that same age bracket and met that many more nice ones in that age group.... young, old, middle aged.. there are all nice people and giving.. and many have things to offer.. if u put a age bracket on your profile if you are looking to date.. why not leave it open for friends in other ages to email you? there may be something to learn...or perhaps teach!

Deb, I've never put any restrictions on my e-mail for that very reason -- there are people here of all different ages, from all different places, who are definitely worth communicating with and getting to know.
I think if people see this as strictly a dating site, and restrict who can contact them, they could be depriving themselves of some amazing friends.... |

im thinking this.. i could meet more guy friends locally from age 20-40 as i could on here ages 40-50<in a age range i would like to date> though just looking for friends.. and im thinking cause they would have less fear in meeting even for a friend than a guy in my age group does.. i wonder why?

I think, if you break it down far enough, it depends more on the two people as individuals, per se, than it does on their statistics. Having said that, I will now sort of contradict myself and admit that, in general, I tend to get along much better with younger people or older people in most conversational scenarios -- I just have so very little in common with most people my age.... |

I have good friends of all ages, but in dating/LTRs have always stayed close to my age group. Wasn't really a conscious choice, just the way life happened! The "one for me" is only 2 years older than I am and we can communicate without words more easily than with them! I can't count the number of times I have mailed him a letter about something and the same day receive one with him talking about the same topic so I must agree with Lex, it depends on the 2 people. |
