The sad thing is domestic violence shelter only help those in a spousal abuse situation and not a famlial situation.........it doesn't matter the pattern of control and anger in the famlial situations at all....... Yeah, I think the theory is that familial relationships are not as interdependent as marital and intimate ones,,, You thinks so after years and decades of mental and physical abuse......I wonder how it doesn't make the child turned into adult dependent upon what the abusive parental units think and say causing internalizations and self victimization?? With nowhere to turn or go?? Unable to functionon own or feel safe...... I think once the physical dependency is broken there is no place someone can go to escape any other type of dependency,,, I think physical retreats usually focus on the physical interdependency between people in an intimate cohabitation relationship |

I would be interested in studies/statistics which show that to be true in WESTERN countries where muslims live beside christians,,, I would guess, ESPECIALLY in the NOI , that domestic abuse is much more strongly frowned upon than in the mainstream culture,,, but it would be interesting to read more on it |
