Sorry, got into some hot cyber sex.
![]() Hi precious Kat woman! Hi every blessed beautiful person. I have a question, does it, would it offend anyone here, with a faith in God if someone, like me, asked you to pray for them? I did that once - actually I said "you have a connection, can ya use it?" I called her back and complained - "It didn't work, try again." Later I called her, she said "did it work?", I said yes, thank-you, both Jill and her daughter are find, I didn't kill them after all". It was one of those weird things, was funny, but serious, guess you have to know me better. To this day we laugh about it and to this day I tell her it was the prayers that kept me from loosing one of the best friends I ever had that night. |

This is gonna sound really closed minded and I'm sorry for that up front. I don't have a problem praying for people I know or at least have an inkling of how serious they are when they ask. I'll give ya a for instance. There was a women asking people to pray she get custody of her kids, now in that situation I could pray for the best outcome/highest good for the kids, but I couldn't include the woman cause I didn't know her from Eve, so to speak. How could I even believe she'd be the best for custody.

Wench - what a great point, I totally agree with your thinking.
There does seem to be a lot of 'rules' about prayer, at least as far as what some have told me here. When I was young and had to go to church, we were basically taught to pray as you say. For the best outcome, and then, we were supposed to just accept that whatever that outcome was, it was God's will that it be that way. Yet, I'm not one to accept some things so easily. If I'm not happy with my life, or with the way something is going, I'm going to try to change it. If I had to believe that I might be doing something against God's will, because I was still trying to change what I prayed about, then I would be a miserable, depressed and unhappy person. So, for those who do pray, it seems fair that they simply pray for the best outcome, and maybe, that they might someday understand the why of that outcome. |

I simply pray for what ever would be best in a given situation.

Prayers should be specific. In the case of the custody of kids. That is pretty specific (the well being of the kids).
I have said this often; God does answer all prayers. He sometimes says no. Or not yet. But prayer is better received in numbers, I believe. When I pray, I try and be specific. As in a proper name. Prayer can not be selfish, for ones own self. There is a way to ask for something for ones own good. I mostly pray for others, and sometimes for guidance for myself. There she is! My girlfriend Di. Hi lovely. You can absolutely ask for prayer for you or anyone. Can't hurt, can it? Kat |

I pray for the highest good of all concerned.
I may think I know what that looks like but I can't see what is farther down the path... so I just trust that all will resolve in the highest good. Good night Di ![]() |

While reading about prayer here, a line from an old hymn came to me.....'prayer is the souls sincere desire, unuttered or expressed'.
So, we don't have to go to church to pray (tho, I love my church, they're just like a big loving family) and we don't have to spout a lot of flowery words trying to impress God. God sees our prayer in our heart. I do think that it's good (for us) sometimes to put our prayer in words...but I don't always have the words. Red, it shouldn't offend any christian, and certainly would not offend me if you asked me to pray for you. Actually, I have been praying for you, I pray for everyone I meet and my prayer is that we might all have hearts of love. ![]() |
