Topic: What do you think about baby dolls... | |
---|---|
That do just about everything a human does and how it effects a child growing up?
I know this is a weird question but serious, I don't think babies should be learning how to take care of babies. |

this is quite the sociological question.
but i don't have the energy to get all deep on this ****. |

i've explained to my girls, dolls are pretend, they pretend eat, and pretend poo. they need to use their imagination. they do not need a doll that is "life like" Like when you hand kids a refrigerator box and a sheet and tell them to make a fort......and they look at you like you just sprouted an oak tree on your forehead... Imaginations are slowly disappearing.... |

well, yay, who needs an imagination when everything is robotic these days. I think it is ridiculous.

I think its good for kids to learn about how to look after another life, especially if its something they have a natural curiousity and capability for, what better way for them to gain the experience in a situation where noone can be hurt(pretend)?

It's not a doll, it's an action figure!

kids learn through play. Thats how we learn the proper behavior to interact in society. We role play. Dolls are very important in this play cenario. Doesnt really matter what the doll can do. my daughter has a doll that does almost everything. scary thing really. but she plays with her doll turned off. I think the toys are made this way for us adults.

I guess in all what i'm getting at. Why do they make baby dolls that sh.t and piss? so kids dont grow up thinking babies are just to 'play' with and dress.... They are toys, kids deserve a time in life where they can be kids, as they grow and attend school and gain responsibility--- they will know stress and worry, and right now, let them have their fun. Let them enjoy the first few years of their life. My 3 yr old has no business changing diapers ----period. My kids (oldest 10) still think shut up and hell are cuss words. I like the fact they are slightly naive to the evils of this world. I never said they were uneducated --- Learn as you go. I am not raising no baby mama who wants to get knocked up at 14 yrs old because she loves being a "REAL MOMMY" |

I like the fact they are slightly naive to the evils of this world. I never said they were uneducated --- Learn as you go. I am not raising no baby mama who wants to get knocked up at 14 yrs old because she loves being a "REAL MOMMY" I guess its just not that serious to me,, she enjoys doing that as much as the other stuff and its a skill she will eventually need, so I dont see the harm(thats just me) playing with the doll is fun, not a responsibility, I would feel differently if she were three and being MADE to change a real babies diapers(that would be a responsibility) but if she ENJOYS feeling like a mommy, I take it as a compliment, and I dont have an issue with her playing with the dolls that are lifelike, I think it teachers her about the responsibility involved without forcing her to take that responsibility herself I am equally fearful of raising a girl who gets knocked up at fourteen because she has no idea the RESPONSIBILITIES of being a REAL MOMMY besides dressing them pretty , showing them off, and then sticking them in the closet while they hang out people must remember that all children are not identical, nor are their wants or needs or development,,,, what one child can handle might be different than the next with mine, she is very independent minded at three, and she enjoys learning about the things she sees, including being a mommy, I dont have an issue (if she shows the interest) in letting her explore(if its not dangerous) |
