Such a coward. I would not care where he coaches because wherever it is, I will not be following him. If we did what he did, we would never find another job.Ugh!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

FL signed Will Muschamp (sorry if it's misspelled),the DC for the Longhorns to replace Urban Meyer as head coach

i would go with Bobby Petrino simply cause he likes to chuck the ball down the field, look at arkansas they really don't have the greatest runnin game but their runnin game is the short passes, who does that remind you of,the patriots and look where they are, even though i can't stand them

Ok. So now we know that Will Muschamp is taking over at Florida. And honestly, I am surprised by this move. I think Foley (UF Athletic Director) missed the boat on Chris Peterson (Head Coach at Boise State). I feel that Peterson would have left Boise for a job like Florida. Don't get me wrong. I like Muschamp, and I think that if he has the right people around him then he will succeed at UF.
Never thought Stoops would leave OK. If he was going to, he would have done it by now. Petrino is a good coach JT. But his rep for leaving probably scared Foley off. I'm sure had Foley offered Petrino the job, Petrino would be in Gainsville. Now. As to all the "reasons" why Meyer left? That's easy. He wanted out last year, got talked back into another season, and now he is leaving during a good time for him to resign. I'm sure it sucks to leave after going 7-5, but the dude's heart just isn't in it. He needs time away, but I fully expect him to come back to coaching within three to five years. He will get that itch. Then again, he has done all he can do as a college football coach. Ten years as a head coach, he has two National titles. Dude could never coach again and still would have accomplished more than most coaches can in a 20 or 30 year coaching career. That says a lot. |

RKISIT - I think with the 7 year extension BP signed with Arkansas,he is trying to show he can be committed.some people say he left Atl for the money but with the Falcons he was making 5 million,he came to Arkansas for only 1/2 that amount.I just think he decided the NFL was not the place for him and since Arkansas needed a coach,it was the perfect chance to get out.now he's got the Razorbacks headed in the right direction,so i don't see him leaving any time soon
Goof - i agree,i was 100% sure Meyer was going to leave at the end of last season when Tebow left and was shocked when he came back.i'm pretty sure he will be back in a few years, maybe even sooner if he can find another Tebow but i also think it's going to take several years for FL to rebuild and get back to where they used to be. I've also been hearing Vandy is offering a head coaching job to Malzahn.i know Malzahn is wanting a head coaching job but i don't think he'll accept the Vandy job |

I can't see Malzahn taking the Vandy job. I will admit though. If he did, he would make people come and watch Vandy games. As hot a commodity as he is now, I am sure he will wait for a better job opportunity to come along. And, to just throw this out there, if Rodriguez does not do better in year four at Michigan, wonder if they would talk to Malzahn? Hmmmmm.
Muschamp has a ton of talent to work with at UF. And alot of that young talent is on defense, which is his specialty. He gets a top notch OC and Florida will be back in no time. I also believe that Petrino left the Falcons because he simply did not like the NFL game. And, he made the right choice. His coaching style is suited for the college game. |
