Bet money there are at least four Los Angeles Class subs in the area too! Aegis Cruisers too dripping with SM II and SM III. And N Korea plans on doing what exactly? Peccy, I don't think I would use the word "occupied" as it relates to our troops deployed in Korea. They are more like a deterent or a trip wire that, should North Korea launch an offensive and we take heavy losses (which would certainly be the case), it would provoke a robust response from an angry USA at the loss of our forces.

I heard a report from the US Navy a couple years ago that was the Navy's biggest fear. That we would have a US Carrier Battle Group deployed near Korea and North Korea would take it out with a nuclear tipped cruise missile.

Our cruise missiles (tomahawk)are subsonic but I believe North Korea has some short range cruise missiles that have supersonic capability and are hard to knock out. All they have to do is get it close to a US Battle group and detonate.

Triton missiles carry up to seven 5Meg warheads. Atlas II carries five. Minuetman III carries one warhead. They fire nukes we will fire ours. So they get the carrier? How about the Boomers? Think we don't float Wolf Packs of our own? They have subs too? And how long have we been playing cat and mouse with Russia underwater? Russian subs are better than many of us choose to believe.

When the nukes start flying the UN will have a lot of egg on its collective faces and China will probably get stripped of their seat on the security council. Let N Korea get froggy! We got stuff that was being worked on before that jackoff Dem Obama began stripping back our weapons development budget. Ronald Regan was committed to "Star Wars" and look at what China is trying to do. Shoot down satellites. Why? Cripple our defense and communication infrastructure.

Sure we carry the big stick with thermonuclear capability but they could have the potential do inflict heavy casulties on our forces and possibly our homeland.

I think we were all surprised when 15 Saudi's took our commercial airliners and flew them into the WTC on 9-11. I think we are still reeling from the economic impact that attack caused.

Just imagine if there is a North Korean fishing vessel off the coast of California and pops a nuke over LA? This is a real concern that President Bush was faced with when briefed about it back in 2002.

I highly doubt there would be a huge loss of US troops at all. We are better funded and better equiped then they could even dream to be. If we had a President that had a sack, this would have already been handled.

They don't have a delivery system that works at all. We can shoot down any of their prehistoric missles that they even aim in our direction.

Regardless, even if their luck is only in the one percentile, they only need to get lucky once. Take China for instance, they have thousands of nukes, if one percent of those nukes make it through that would be ten nukes, if ten nukes hit the United States there would simply not be a United States anymore.

North Korea is nowhere near thousands or even hundreds, but if they want to they will be, and when they are they become a very serious threat.

But **** it, not like logic has a whole lot of grab in this forum with all of you Rambo's and Terminator's. So how about you just get your passport, fly over to North Korea, purchase a gun (maybe even a fancy handgun) and try to neutralize the nuclear threat yourself.
