My friend Christina, who I met 21 years ago when she trained me at my job, was always the life of the party. Lately she was happier than she has ever been because she found a great guy and was expecting her first baby. She had her baby shower two weeks ago for her beautiful baby boy.

Christina gave birth on the 17th, but not without complications, not for the baby--for her. She was given an incorrect amount of anesthesia and her limbs were paralyzed while she was in labor and the doctors did an emergency C-section. Because the paralysis didn't end for more than a day, she wasn't able to get up and walk around to avoid clots forming in her legs.

She was sent home from the hospital on Wednesday along with her beautiful bundle of joy. Pictures I have seen of her, her boyfriend and son were filled with pride and elation. Unfortunately, those pictures are the only ones that they will have now. Christina passed away Saturday night from what might have been an embolism, we are waiting to hear the results of the autopsy.

Please keep her boyfriend, new-born son and family in your prayers.

That is a sad story. I have actually heard such a thing happening before, from a lot of friends in the medical field, and it always saddens me when I hear it again.
