What does it mean?? The statement is absurd, right? If I take away the way in which the concept is conveyed, I think it means "Looking for someone with integrity and character; a stand-up guy (or girl) who will take responsibility for their actions". |

They could mean that all they are getting lately is scammers or those that are not whom they say they are once they met them.....

I always thought some women said that when they were
looking for somebody who was ready for "commitment". Never specify the facility though... |

It means somthing different to everyone......
to me it means... A man who does not even think about changing me...who loves me for me and the crazy things i am known to do or say or think...... a man who has his own thing goin...... a man whos not afraid to listen and talk..... an alpha male......so many other things that might only be "perfect" for me though..... and after a long haul...I have found him!!! |

i think by "REAL" in MY OWN OPINION would include qualities such as responsible, self sufficient, and genuinely caring. That's my definition of a real man.

What does it mean?? Sometimes it means, "I'm looking for a bad boy who can thrill me and give me the lifestyle that I want." |

Yeah, who needs those pesky words getting in the way? I much prefer the urban, unsophisticated way of communiqué! |

DIRTY, SWEATY, GREASY, WITH POWER TOOL?!?

This is a hard one to translate, but I think it means "Looking for a guy whose brain has a conveniently-located On-Off switch that he doesn't know about."

"NOT Lex?"
Hi Lex! |
|
|
|
Watch the beginning of the James Bond movie "The Living Daylights", which is the first Bond movie starring Timothy Dalton.
In the movie's opening, you see a rich *itch lying around on a yacht, complaining in a phone call about a lack of "real" men. Translation: She wanted a wealthy playboy or a boy-toy. |

I'm gonna be an a-hole here for a moment. And I am doing it because a statement like this pisses me off to no end.
Do I say "Looking for a REAL woman?" Hell no, and for good reason. Why the hell would I ask for something that assumes I want perfection. A real woman? What? Do I want plastic? Pfffft. If I did, then I live in the wrong part of the country for that. Women who say they want a real man simply think that a real man is a guy who will bow to their every whim. And while I am all about compromise, and all about wanting to make a woman happy, I am not about to be her definition of what she thinks I should be. You either like Goof or not. Don't treat me like a ball of play-doh and try to create something out of me. But, as usual, a guy is supposed to sit back and listen to some women biatch about "real" men. A guy is supposed to say to a woman "I am a real man. I want to get with you". Yeah. Already just committed yourself to being her little puppy dog. And no. I do not buy into the theory that women want a man with "honesty, integrity, and blah, blah, blah". Of course women want that. So most say. And most do. But the fact is, a good portion of women want to make a man into what she sees to think he should be. Yes, there are men who do this too. But we are talking about women here. All I am saying is that I think when women say this, they are hiding their true intent. It has been proven time and time again that women can say all the nice things, want the personality and all that good stuff. But when it boils down to it, they either want to control a guy or they simply want a guy with the looks. And if you think it isn't true, then look around you. The proof smacks you in the face on a daily basis. Ugh! I'm done. |
