I mean, why do people listen to her? I don't get it, it's the same crap I've heard churned out by the pop industry over and over again over the past few years, and now because some crazy ***** with a *ahem* different fashion sense sings it (I use the term "sing" losely) we're all just supposed to buy into to the fact that she's the next big thing?

She is no more talented or different musically than Britney Spears, Aguillera, Ashley Simpson...the list goes on. It's the same stuff! And don't get me started on why people even listen to Ke$ha. I mean am I missing something big here, or am I just getting old. 26 is too young to be old :(

I think she is more talented than Spears and Simpson. Those two can't play instruments, and GaGa is more visually entertaining. Aguilera is more talented vocally but, as I said, GaGa can also play instruments as well.

I listen to hard core rock more than anything: Mushroomhead, Slip Knot, Sevendust, Manson, etc, but I also like to go clubbing. Pop, house and trance is also attractive to me.

I love GaGa.

David Bowie did the same thing in the 1970s. He would put on OUTRAGEOUS stage shows. She just tries to take image to a whole different high. She isn't my personal cup of tea but I do not have a dislike of her like Brittany Spears. Lady gaga isn't running amok and acting all stupid and all ya know! She reminds me of David Bowie meets a Las Vegas choreographer!

That's a great comparison. Even Manson, Liberace, Elton John and Madonna have followed similar visual paths. She isn't doing anything new but she has her own "level" as you said.

Well it makes sense that she sounds drunk when she's trying to sing, because all she does is sing about drinking!

She also looks like John Travolta, which is really unsettling to me.

aside from her drug use that helps her come up with her crazy ideas.she does have talent shes different..shes my guilty pleasure..and shes a helluva lot less annoying that that Kesha girl with the always auto tuned voice! oh and gaga hasnt flashed her vajayjay that i know of.

Did you know that she got here name from the Queen song "Radio GaGa"? That makes me imagine Freddy Mercury turning in his grave. And as far as her "talent" goes... I think if she looked like a regular person, she would never have a song on the radio. She just goes for the "wow" factor.

Every performer has their "schtick"....and hers happens to rake in boku bucks.....

I guess my problem is that American music used to mean something, and now, thanks to acts like her or American Idol, it's kind of a joke to the rest of the world. It reminds me of how shitty music was after Elvis stopped making rock and roll and before the Beatles became popular. I long for the grunge days where looks didn't matter, but now they mean everything. The music sounds the same, has no substance. I've looked through Gaga's lyrics...nothing of substance. The whole mind-set is "if it has a good beat and I can dance to it..."

But I agree that the world keeps moving on, and I don't have to listen so why *****? But why not *****? People ***** about way more trivial matters on here right?

I actually think that 90 percent of the talent that competes on American Idol is more talented than the top 25 percent of artists who get continuous airplay.

I don't listen to either Lady GaGa or ke$ha ... not so into Pop in general. It's all just personal preference.

But that's my point! It's not about the talent...of course it's a part of it, but it's about the soul of the music. Bob Dylan sucked as a singer, but was one of the most influential artists of all time. Kurt Cobain wasn't the best singer or guitarist, and yet he changed music forever. American Idol makes it seem like as long as you hit all the right notes, you're a musician, when really, you're an "entertainer." Look at the winners, most of them didn't do anything after they won. Daughtry is horrible, Kelly Clarkson can't even write her own music...Carrie Underwood is actually the only contestant that I think has a lasting musical talent.

She might not have gone to the London College of Music to study opera, but I bet dead Fred would like her. When I went to his concerts in the early '80s, he was pretty flamboyant! I love the Gaga.

....and I was like the #1 Bowie fan back in the 70's!!! Cut my hair short--died it red like Ziggy!!!!(ohhh those were the days!!!)
