Topic: Massive fish kill reported in Louisana | |
---|---|
I just spoke with the head of BP's testing lab. He didn't know about the fish kill. He said they have fish kills in last summer in hot years due to Red Algae getting into the fish's gills. But since BP apparently is being blamed for it, he will look into it. Yeah right....thanks for the laugh. If your friend looks into it it'd be for damage control only...BP could care less. He's not a friend. He is my brother. Some of us actually have real knowledge outside of the net. Well your brother upon "checking on it" was just made to sign a disclosure to keep quiet and never speak about it again, or be fired. You tell me what happens. IF BP does anything it's to hide or disclose bad info to fight further penalties. Like in Texas...they have paid billions in safety fines...than did the same thing again. Why would anyone expect different from them? BP recently concluded itself innocent of the rig explosion, they blamed Cheneyburton and Transocean for it all...they also disguised the size of the spill with TONS of poisonous dispersants. I trust nothing of anything they have done. Arrests SHB made. |

I trust nothing of anything they have done. Arrests SHB made. There was no testing done. All the legit websites have posted the following update. "After the fish kills were first discovered, there were concerns that the chemical dispersents dumped in large quantities into the Gulf may have played a role, or that the microbes busy breaking down the oil in the water may have usurped the oxygen and created a dead zone. These fears, according to the state's report, appear unfounded. But it is worth noting that though the Fish & Wildlife Dept. has ruled this fish kill a result of natural causes, the Gulf of Mexico has a severe problem with marine dead zones, as New Scientist explains: "Summer dead zones are common in the Gulf of Mexico, caused by the large amounts of fertiliser that get flushed down the Mississippi river, which triggers a dramatic drop in the amount of oxygen dissolved in the water." |

How could they be deemed as "unfounded" when there was no testing done, and of course fish kills are common but usually to only one or two types at a time, not a mass kill. Liars. You can't BS a BSer yo...what a crock-o-chit. |

There are fish kills all over the Gulf every year in late summer. There is a big problem with fertilizer runoff into the Mississippi River that causes "blooms" that remove the oxygen and kills the fish near the Mississippi delta. Try looking up facts instead of making up facts. And BTW, since you don't know, BP is in litigation over the oil mess they created. A non disclosure agreement wouldn't apply in any real sense if one even existed. And it wouldn't make any sense for a testing lab to report invalid results because all the samples (or a large amount) are kept for latter confirmation. Not the mention the fact that multiple labs are testing the same areas for confirmation. |

Louisiana and the whole Southern portion Florida Alabama and Mississippi has a plaque upon it..........from floods hurricanes and disasters have just killed it........and will eventually go below the water surface as predicted for years......this saddens me actually.....how many more category fours could that area take anywyas....the literal strength of a category 4 storms has the ability to wipe a whole state nearly flat imagine one good category five of if a Norester winter frezzing hurricane on the level of an actual hurricane could completely freeze over an area as well if it were to reach the levels of it its yang the hurricane or typhone.....okay am done imaginig the unthinkable.....the homeostasis of the Earth remains a beautiful and awesome entity....the pwoers of the Earth.......we as humans are definitely out sync with it and thev animal kingdom and in so doing have definitely signed our own death warrants but the only way to become in sync is to live amongst it.....not creating concrete jungles of impossible quantities of waste and by product intakes.....

Read "e" carefully and think about if any government agency has any say in these events. You are confusing possible "expert witnesses" and private consultants with independent testing labs. There are rules to the ways independent testing labs operate to prevent them from faking data for companies like BP. But of course that doesn't fit your view of reality. I didn't edit any statement about it usually affecting only two types of fish. The Fish and Wildlife Dept went to look at the fish kill you posted photos of and posted what they found. I just posted the part that mattered... the part about THIS fish kill. By your logic, hurricanes don't usually kill anyone so if they do it must be a lie. Heaven forbid the Fish and Wildlife people should know what areas of state are affected by the oil spill. |

this summer saw several fish kills on the east coast and that is very uncommon. August is was the intire east coast. This past weekend it was south nj. Water testing stopped a few years ago off the nj coast. The leagcy we inheritied from greed, is ours to repair for the next generations. EArth day is every day.
