(Aug. 27) -- A few years ago, anybody who spoke disparagingly of the president of the United States was immediately labeled a traitor and accused of coddling the terrorists with a back rub. Not any more. Hammering, slamming and pounding the president these days has once again become a cottage industry. A competitive blood sport. You're even allowed to call him a terrorist citing his refusal to answer the key question: "When did you stop being a Muslim?"

This is not just about the new poll that reveals one-fifth of the American public believes President Barack Obama is an adherent of Islam -- a larger percentage than when he was elected. It is obvious why this is thus. These people are idiots. Stone-crazed loons with the jellied brains of people who enjoy sticking immersion blenders up their nose and will claim with their dying breath that professional wrestling is legitimate.

I'm also talking about so-called Christian leaders who authoritatively state that his Muslimness has been passed genetically down from his father and let's not forget the rabid right-wing talk show hosts who publicly hope for him to fail and privately encourage listeners to send him homemade mayonnaise that's been left on the roof of an Iowan county fair cattle barn for the weekend.

Other folks hedge their bets by admitting he may be a Christian but question whether it's the right strain of Christianity. According to these self-sainted experts, there are two kinds of Christians: those who believe the exact same thing that they do, and those doomed to spend all of eternity burning in the unquenchable fires of hell. Bless their little hearts.

Then there's the Apostles of Greed, a subversive segment that uses religion as a financial cudgel, characterizing anyone a godless communist who speaks about Jesus' mandate to first see to the needs of the least fortunate of us. And a godless communist is much worse than a Muslim any day. Except around ground zero, where it's not.

On the other hand, the good news is, these very same people convinced that he's a Muslim do believe he's black. Not just black, but really black. Scary black. Black black. Clenched right fist raised high in the sky wearing shades and a bow tie black. Makes Malcolm X look like a lovable Scottish imp.


Another misconception, since Obama has always taken pains to play down race to where it's barely visible with a molecular microscope. Besides, we all know he's only half-black. And that too is so America. "Yeah, yeah, we're evolved enough to elect an African-American president, but first, I don't know, why don't we try out ... a half-black guy. A hybrid. It's not a marathon, it's a sprint. Tortoise beats the hare. Baby steps. We'll work our way up to Ving Rhames." Of course you know who plays Barack in the movie: Tom Hanks. Just like Sara Lee, nobody doesn't like Tom Hanks.

So, let us recap: Yes, he's black, but no, he's not a Muslim. And while you're at it, quit it with the born in Kenya thing, would you? It's getting old. He was born in Hawaii. In a manger. We all know that. And then visited by the three Haoles. Who presented him with gold, frankincense and poi. It's so damn frustrating when people get their facts wrong.

The article lost all credibility in the first sentence. I believe it was more than a few years ago when people started bashing Bush. And it was accepted as free speech. Now we have a democrat in office and it just started with him. Give me a break.
It sucks when the shoe is on the other foot. With the exception now if you say something against the president your labeled a racist.

Obama? Respectable enough to get creds? For what? Doing nothing and providing shoddy leadership? What good has he really done? Artificial Bail Outs? Threatening and increasing taxation? Asking for people to Sacrifice when he has not sacrificed anything? Promising change many sheeple bought that he could not provide? Not cutting off the head of the snake poisoning our country? Weakening our ability to defend ourselves? Driving us us WAY deeper into a debt cycle we cannot break?

He sold our azzes out to the Health Insurance Industry.

Change (for the worst) we can count on.

The man is a LIAR! I wonder what would happen if he will got caught putting his putter where it doesn't belong like Clinton! Think his wife will shoot off his pee pee?

I am so unimpressed with his so called accomplishments.

Tell us when he does something really important like ending our economic crisis without driving us deeper into debt.

Yes, the stimulus has cut taxes for 95% of working Americans, bailed out every state, hustled record amounts of unemployment benefits and other aid to struggling families and funded more than 100,000 projects to upgrade roads, subways, schools, airports, military bases and much more. But in the words of Vice President Joe Biden, Obama's effusive Recovery Act point man, "Now the fun stuff starts!"

The stimulus is also stocked with nonenergy game changers, like a tenfold increase in funding to expand access to broadband and an effort to sequence more than 2,300 complete human genomes - when only 34 were sequenced with all previous aid. There's $8 billion for a high-speed passenger rail network, the boldest federal transportation initiative since the interstate highways. There's $4.35 billion in Race to the Top grants to promote accountability in public schools, perhaps the most significant federal education initiative ever - it's already prompted 35 states and the District of Columbia to adopt reforms to qualify for the cash. There's $20 billion to move health records into the digital age, which should reduce redundant tests, dangerous drug interactions and errors caused by doctors with chicken-scratch handwriting. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius calls that initiative the foundation for Obama's health care reform and "maybe the single biggest component in improving quality and lowering costs."

Not true.

I was told I was unpatriotic for what I said about Bush and should move out of this country for what I said about Bush. I was reported here for what I wrote about Bush. I was told that the secret service was going to be at my door because of what I said about Bush.

Every last bit of this is exactly like the CCC in the 1930s and that was a major flop historically. I also do not see anything he has done to make health care less expensive. Germany has the answer, not Obama. Health care is still a FOR PROFIT venture here. Like I said, what has he done to reduce costs? TAX CUTS? REALLY? WHERE? FOR WHOM? 95% of who exactly? Not anyone I know! In reality he has raised taxes.

This isn't hated. Its spite for incompetence! Again spending more to fix what exactly? More Government sponsored jobs to pad Union coffers with Union Labor which is over priced?

I am sorry but I cannot see how these "accomplishments" stack up to anything meaningful or worth while!

Did you read the first sentance? It implies that no one said anything against the president until Obama took office. I can recall things said about past presidents but nothing as harsh as was said against Bush. And it started well before "a few years ago"

That isn't true, it implied that they were called unAmerican, terrorist loving, need to move out of this country imbeciles.

Of which I was accused of all of it for my stance on Bush. People on here wanted me off of here because of what I said about Bush.

The only I said that came close to what has been said about Obama is that Bush thought he was a dictator instead of a president calling himself the great decider and telling us how god spoke to him.

No I didn't misread it. It makes it sound like everyone is getting a free pass if they say something about Obama. Thats not true they are being called the same things but on top of it the racist is also thrown in.

just from the republicans... i like it obama isn't acting like bush did when he was in office. not that i like obama, but he is good about not ruining peoples lives by speaking freely.
