If you are stating that you are questioning your sexuality, I would suggest getting involved with your local LGBTQ organization, particularly those associated with colleges/universities. They often plan social events that you could attend. Even if you are not questioning your sexuality, LGBTQ organization social events provide fun and safe environments to meet people.

Honestly, appearance does really matter, but as men get more mature and start to know the real you, then that should be all that matter. Yeah I know it sound ridiculously fake, but not many guys want to date young hot chicks. Some are hard to please. It's more like being a slave.
