My dad was an officer with the 511th airborne and helped to lead a jump into a POW camp (Los Banos Prison) south of Manila.... They got over 2,000 people out without any fatalities.. Considered best jump ever by the Paratroopers.. It's now in the Military Science books.. and you can look it up by searching "511th Airborne"
