Ok, first a disclaimer, I'm going to say this at the risk of sounding like a complete a$$ but that's alright. Also, I already know I am going to get a bunch of guys claiming 'that' not true, well for me....' in the words of Penn and Teller I call 'B*llsh!t' granted there are probably some exceptions to the rule, but not every guy claiming exception is...you know what I mean. Ok now on to the answer lol.


It's a simple analogy really, think of the relationship as a new amusement park, when we first visit every thing is shiny and new and fun and a new experience. We are even willing to wait the 3+ hours in line for the best rides available. We will not be bothered by the wait at all, it's fun, it's new, it's exciting. But even the best ride(pun intended) loses a lot of it's fun after a while. Now here's where the problem(i think) comes in. Ladie's often tend to think that the guy still see's them as a 'new' ride, and that they are still willing to wait forever in order to ride, problem is they won't, will they still go on the ride? of course, but only if the line is short, otherwords they will pass it by, however, they will be looking for variation, not a complete new ride, just a twist, and they will wait for that, especially if promised, but if they are promised an updated ride, and wait forever to try it, and find out it's the same ride, they are going to keep searching, and walking around the park. If they're are enough rides, and variation in the park, they will stay in the park. If there are never any updates, the park will fail eventually.

yes it can go both ways, however, I was just speaking from my perspective, and what I have observed myself, being that i'm a guy, and not a girl, I can't honestly provide a ladies perspective due to my nature of course. However, thank you ladies for supplying your own perspective as my genetics prevents me from providing an accurate point of view for you.

Personally I see your analogy as an excuse for a person to stay a player. ( Male or Female )

A mature adult will go that park after the second time and see the carousel ride and ride it over and over, recalling the first time it gave such a thrill. Admire the craftmanship it took to still be there and running. And the beauty of well aged and oiled machine, like a fine antique car. The exciting thing about that ride is that each time you can change it up and ride a horse or ride a zebra or even sit in the swan seat. It is the same ride yet different each and every time. Not boring.
