Topic: Powerful Cartel Orders Hit On Sheriff Joe | |
---|---|
A Mexican drug cartel has reportedly put a hefty price tag on the head of Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio.
As parts of Arizona's immigration law, SB 1070, went into effect last week, a Mexican drug cartel sent out text and audio messages offering rewards to anyone who would join its fight, a source who says his wife received the message told MyFoxPhoenix.com. "It's offering a million dollars for Sheriff Joe Arpaio's head and offering a thousand dollars for anyone who wants to join the Mexican cartel," the man, who wants to remain anonymous, told the station. The instructions included directions to pass the message along and listed an international phone number, MyFoxPhoenix.com reported. The man reported the message to the Sheriff’s Department, which says it believes the message originated in Mexico and could be credible. But even if the message isn’t authentic, Lisa Allen of the Sheriff's office told MyFoxPhoenix.com, it could still pose a threat. "It's going so many different places that our folks are looking at it and thinking well, at any given point in time, it could land in front of some crazy person who thinks I can do that," she said. The sheriff's office hopes to track down the exact source of the messages, but says that may be difficult to do with an international number, the station reported. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2010/08/02/mexican-drug-cartel-allegedly-puts-price-arizona-sheriffs-head/ Hopefully the Federal Government will step in and help him out and issue him a protection detail. |

Faux news. I have to wait to have the story confirmed elsewhere before I can trust it is the truth. Sorry. It is being widely reported all over local News Stations in Arizona. The story was also run by the Associated Press. Sheriff Joe Arpaio has faced many death threats before and has never backed down from his duties in Law Enforcement. Sheriff Arpaio is very popular in Arizona and if he were to get hit, things would get mighty ugly very quick around here and on the border. |

Faux news. I have to wait to have the story confirmed elsewhere before I can trust it is the truth. Sorry. Once again....... In the third week of January 2010, Fox News was the highest rated basic cable channel in primetime. This marked the first time that a news channel led the primetime ratings, beating out entertainment channels such as USA, TNT, and TBS. Also in January 2010, Public Policy Polling reported that Fox News was the most trusted television news channel in the country with 49% of respondents stating they trust Fox News. Fox also scored the lowest level of distrust with only 37%, and was the only channel to score a net positive in that regard, with a +12%. CNN scored second in the poll with 39% of those polled stating that they trusted the news channel, and 41% stating distrust, a -2% net score. THEN Nn the wake of the North Korean Missile Crisis and the 2006 Lebanon War, Fox saw a surge in viewership and remained the #1 rated cable news channel.[34][35] Fox still held eight of the ten most-watched nightly cable news shows, with The O'Reilly Factor and Hannity & Colmes coming in first and second places, respectively. AND For the year 2007, FNC was the number-one rated cable news channel in the United States when rating based on Ratings, not cumulative audience. AND For the year 2009 Fox News had the highest ratings in its history, topping its cable news competition in all day parts and seeing double-digit gains for all of its programs. |

Faux news. I have to wait to have the story confirmed elsewhere before I can trust it is the truth. Sorry. It also makes people loose credibility when they make a play on a name like that. |
