Topic: For the Newbies.... Email Etiquette | |

I actually did reply to him and said thanks but "hi cutie" isn't much for me to go off of when there is NOTHING written in your profile.

All I'm asking is give me SOMETHING to work with. They email me because they either think I'm attractive or like my profile or both. If all I have to go off of is 1 far away picture, no profile information and an email that says "hi" why should I respond?

The guy could have got his fill of joy by simply telling you he likes you. He needs not go further, and since you can't, anyway, there is no harm done if you don't repy. |

"Hi qt" is not an invitation or a request to respond; you don't have any reason to respond; so don't. It's not the same guy who gets upset for not getting responses. There are all kinds of guys out there, and their expectations are different, as widely varying as their attitudes. If you blame a guy for being what he is not, well, that's your pejorative. I just wanted to show that some guys are not psick psychos who simply psay "hi qt". |

I don't know what to say. Most guys don't get replies. They don't get replies to "hi qt", and they don't get replies to anything else, including, but not restricted to, types of letters that are funny, long, short, to the point, show the reader that her profile has been read, grammatically correct or in-, etc. etc. Total agreement here. I've written 5 books, and I know a little something about writing. If a published author can't even get a reply to a first e-mail, then what's the point? From now on, they're going to have to PAY me to write to them! (Volume discounts apply.) |

If you notice my post was not sex specific. I was putting it out to all newbies. I can only give examples as a female receiving emails from men, but I never said this was a "guy" thing.
