What do you know about sex addiction? aren't we all addicted to sex? Or at least, most of us I'm currently in remission. |

True sex addicts would be in a constant state of 'emission' ...

Porn is the one thing in my life that leads to nothing good, yet I go back to it all to often. I hate it, the more I look at porn, the more I stare at a lady's chest. It diffently brings out the side of me that I do not like. Not sure how to break from it unless I take a hammer to my computer or the more permanant solution of cutting off my arms. It flat out sucks! This is not true. See "Defending Pornography" by Nadine Strossen. |

Haha well this is not a joke. Sex addiction is real just like any other type of addiction. Read this: Sexual addiction is not a character defect or a moral issue. It is a disease that affects the brain. Underlying sexual addiction is shame and low self worth. Partners are similarly affected and are faced with navigating through betrayal and anger. Most addicts, and those affected by addiction, need a system of support and comprehensive treatment plan for recovery. I'm not buying it. It sounds like another way for a psychiatrist to bilk a person out of some cash. Those that claim to have it, just lack self discipline, have commitment issues and are looking for a cop out. It's not like chemical or alcohol addiction where the drug itself has caused a biological change in a person. It's just a cheater making excuses. Now, let's get back to the jokes. I agree I think the condition exists however, It used far more often as an excuse for bad behavior. Have you ever noticed as soon as the world comes up with another supposed "condition" how all of a sudden flocks of them come out of the woodwork? |

Interesting ... y' suppose 'woodworkers' have problems with 'sex addiction' ... ? Curious ...
This is just 'medicalized' rationalization to let people say they have 'no control' over their behavior 'cuz it's a 'condition' ... |

All I can tell you is......it's not something to be taken lightly. As someone who has struggled with a cybersex/porn addiction for so many years, it can create many issues. It's not worth the brief highs it brings.

All psychological studies remain never conclusive or definitive in any way shape or form........there are variables in reactionary answers just as there is nothing definitive in how a child turns out in families.....some turn and display opposite personality traits from parental guardians......and sttles in combination with nature and nuturing in combination with no definitive answers as to the outcome until it evolves......if it is a problem for u or other they call it a mental illness.......
