At least it seems that way to me where I work. I was just wondering if other guys have come to the same conclusion to jobs that they have worked.

I can see your point. It just seems to me that some women can understand some women better than some men can. This insight just came to me this morning.

My friend who is a male aide had trouble with this one lady so he called me to see if I could help her. I couldn't help her either so he got his girlfriend to see if she could help her. She did great. We were fortunate to have a female translator to help us.

I am curious if I can take female as a second language. Maybe there is a course I can take on-line.

I think its important to consider where someone is coming from when you try to interact with them in a problem solving way.

If you ignore what they 'are' and expect them to be 'more like you', then you are bound to fail.

Since you didnt really include much about the problem, I can only give vague speculations, obviously.

Sorta insulting to assume its simply a problem of being female.

That makes sense. Thanks.

yes, I think men tend to be very competitive therefore often poor listeners in a group setting particularly. They misinterpret gentleness for weakness. And don't realize the power of gentlness.

Usually if I can get them to take the time to sit down for a moment and listen - or put them in the position where they have to listen - they can do just fine. But as a female employee, I should not have to make an extra effort to get the male employees to listen & cooperate - that's called gender discrimination.

Most men I have worked with do not listen well. Today I emailed a male co worker an appointment time 3 times before he acknowledged it in a back & forth discussion ( he asked for the information 3 times before he realized I had told it to him)whoa

Well, when the aide's girlfriend who is also an aide came out of the room I asked her what was the problem with the woman and why she wouldn't let the male aide or me change her. She replied that she was cold and that was why she fought the first male aide and me. She said she didn't have a problem with her. Yeah, I would say it was a gentleness thing. We probably had the wrong approach or something.

And sometimes they just don't like my attitude like when the woman said she preferred women and I said I do, to. Of course, she meant she preferred women to change her. And I meant something else. It is probably my warped sense of humor, I guess.

IDK, I think it depends on the situation and the people involved. It sounds like your work is a lot different than mine. Maybe she was modest about having men changing her - as a modesty thing. That would really bother me, I think too in that situation.

Yeah, It is nice when they are in their right mind. We just never always know when that will be. My male aide and me were perspiring so much from working so hard that we just didn't realize that she could be cold. It is an easy thing to forget when working with the aged. Sometimes it just nice to have a woman's touch.
