I think those who commit property crimes should have to WORK to restore whatever was taken or damaged while incarcerated until the debt is paid

I think those who damage a person physically, except in self defense, should be kept away from the general public(incarcerated)
for the pre determined time

I think those who commit property crime should be kept in one place, and those who commit violence should be kept in another

But. In most cases now a days. Incarceration is just a means of a better life for them. They get 3 meals a day. A warm place to sleep. Clean clothes to wear. Ect,ect,ect. So. ALOT of people doing the crimes, don't care about the penalty. Or look forward to the penalty. Knowing that they will be better off.

1. teenage girl hit's grown man (commits simple assault)
2. grown man retaliates and hits teenage girl
3. teenage girl is afraid for her safetly/fears for her life
4. teenage boys execute their right of self defense of themselves or others and put the beat down on Al.

Al should have told her parents, and not struck the teenage girl.

I am sorry this happened to Al, but a lawyer for the boys would likely get them off due to the fact that a grown man is a threat to a teenage girl... weather she started it or not.

I doubt AL was in fear of his life with a magazine toting teenage girl hitting him once, but I bet the teenage girl can claim she was afraid for her life - ergo justifying the response of her male peers.

Bad judgement all around. The ADULT should have acted like an ADULT, and taken it to her parents if he felt strongly enough to react, or call the police (that is what they are for).

Not a pleasant story at all, BUT: Al could have gotten their plate number and dropped a dime on 'em ... and before the chorus begins a beatdown, that would NOT necessarily mean that the cops would do a damned thing about it ... I don't blame Al for his 'gut-level' response - I prolly would have done something similar, too ... but this sounds like something that's been happening for quite a while in this area, so he should have been formulating a plan to deal with it long before this event happened. Video cameras come to mind as one possible option. That way he's got visual proof AND the plate number of the vehicle. As for that part of his response that involved hitting a teenaged girl - just not defensible to a judge OR a jury. HE's the one who's supposed to have better judgement, and he failed to exercise it. That said, the behavior of her two thugbuddies is NOT justified, and their sorry little assses should face charges of aggravated assault and battery. Problem is, in today's society, they'd be seen as 'victims' of an aggressive adult's 'road rage' moment and Al would be the one taking the financial bath - and prolly going to 'anger management' classes, to boot. There are no winners here - I hope Al's carryin' now so he can at least make the li'l bastids think twice if there's a 'next time' ...

He has sons about those boys age?

Assault with a weapon, but what if it was a baseball bat instead of a magazine? Anything can be made into a weapon.

She wasn't afraid for her life, this man only whacked her back with it once and would NEVER beat up another unless it was in self defense or defending his family.



Teenage/early 20 year old males who were breaking the law to begin with by doing 65 in a 20 mph zone beat up the man who had the ballz to tell them to slow down.



The adult did act like an adult....he was looking out for the safety of any young children in the area who might have run out in the street when these people were driving recklessly and he only yelled at them. He deserved to get smacked and then beat up for it???????



He didn't know who it was until they got out of the car....it is very hard to identify someone who is speeding down a narrow street or to get the license number off the car that quickly.

What if it was a cop, or yourself, instead Al that got hit in the face by a plssed off 18 or 19 yr old? You would have just stood there????? You wouldn't have done anything to her in return??? Not many people in this world would stand around and let someone hit them, I know I wouldn't. If it was a cop they did that to, they just might be in the hospital with bullet wounds or in the morgue.

He didn't think just yelling "SLOW DOWN" to a car in a residential neighborhood would result in him getting beaten up.....but knowing him, if his getting hurt, stopped them from speeding and possibly killing a child, he is fine with that. But the police know about them now and I will find out later this week if they are caught and what is happening to them.

This happened in an up-scale neighborhood, where you wouldn't think you would video surveillance cameras on the streets. This hasn't been happening for a while, I am unsure where you got that from in my post, Kings_Knight.

I guess I should have been more specific and not just said teenage girl but have said young woman.
