Topic: If Jesus were real.... | |
---|---|
Participants in this forum may NOT make topics or posts attacking the Atheism or Agnosticism. awww.... I think its fun when trolls come in here and attack atheism. We don't have all the answers, we don't have a sacred text we need to protect. Usually they demonstrate their own stupidity in doing so; and if not, then they provide good food for thought. |

This is what you said some time ago:
People always ridicule what they don't understand. Really? How do you reconcile this statement with ones you've made lately about people with whom you disagree? Pot. Kettle? BTW, Einstein thought pretty little of quantum physics and later recanted somewhat, so if you're going to (mis)use him as your 'star witness', know that there is also a logical fallacy that covers this nicely called 'the argument from Universal Expertise'. The opinion of a genius in one field about another with which he has little knowledge is just that-- an opinion subject to all the vagaries of human vanity, prejudices and just as prone to error. -Kerry O. |

awww.... I think its fun when trolls come in here and attack atheism. How is it fun? I wouldn't mind if they had one single intelligent argument. But this guy is a fruit loop. Any sort of recognition - even being totally owned repeatedly, and mocked relentlessly by the good posters here - is maintaining his boner. If we can't find it in ourselves to just ignore him, we should just get his posts removed at admin level. It's not funny. It's not cool. It's just stupid and it's making this thread less and less fun to be in. |

This belongs here.
I once bought a little clay statue of Jesus. It is him, from waist up, waist below nothing, you just stand him on the table. At waist height, he has cherub's heads. Lots of them. About ten or twelve. He is in his usual saintly stance. In his righ hand there is a hole in which he used to clutch something. The who thing is two inche stall. I found this a my local GoodWill store. It was for 99 cents. Obviously a home-made job, or a graduation piece from a sculpting class. It was painted, too. I took it up to cash. I showed it in the line up, and we made jokes. The cashier said, the baby heads don't make sense. I said, "'e 'ad just lopped them off." Gently we laughed, then I said, "Jesus, The Beheader." That brought a round of guffaws. --------- I said this in response to Archamdes' idea of handgranades. --------- I wish to join a religion in which the revered Messiah was stoned to death five thousand years ago by OD-ing on cocaine... and then two thousand years ago He was f... I mean s... ed to death. Then we would have our little church rituals with the nuns and the vestal virgins and the seven mules. Think moder religion. Together, we'll shake this rotten earth like an apple. |

Living as an agnostic in one of the Bible belts, I can certainly identify with the longing for 'safe space' in the middle of all the arrogant religiosity. But often, one has to keep their rapier-like wits sharpened to deal with the intrusions, and situations like the one we have here make for good practice. If our antagonist gets a bit too randy, we still have the option of calling the mods and having him expelled. They usually work pretty effectively around here if you make your case based on evidence the rules are being broken. -Kerry O. |

But it does make for an interesting study, no? On how religious mania is Viagra for those intellectual 'boners'? I don't think anything about this is "interesting". He's not challenging any of my assumptions, or offering anything I haven't heard from a bunch of people who are stupider than him, but still managed to make it sound more interesting. But often, one has to keep their rapier-like wits sharpened to deal with the intrusions, and situations like the one we have here make for good practice. Not this time. I'm not sharpening my rapier for houseflies. we still have the option of calling the mods and having him expelled. They usually work pretty effectively around here if you make your case based on evidence the rules are being broken. There is no "case" here at all. He clearly broke the rules. It only remains to be seen if he refuses to "get" that he's not welcome here. That's not coming from any of us, by the way - that's coming from the forum rules. |

That learned me a lesson. I know now better than to brake rules of the language. |

Here is a video I made based on my own research. It's called, "Cures to the World - Ways to Find God."
This video is designed to convince Atheists that God is real, and he can be proven through modern science. Enjoy. Also, see this URL: http://www.hiddenmeanings.com/outofbody.htm |

Its almost like this guy is a shill for us atheists, with all of his flawed attempts at presenting facts and logic within these threads, he makes theists look bad.
I'm usually quite interested in hearing arguments to prove that god is real...but when someone has already demonstrated their lack of reasoning ability, I lose a lot of interest in hearing more from them. |

you must be a troll. So team troll, to deny factual evidence based on reasons of opinionated credibility is insanity. If my credibility is destroyed with you because I quoted Einstein, are you saying that Einstein was not one of the greatest geniuses to have ever lived? Who has the lack of reasoning now? Me or team troll?

If my credibility is destroyed with you because I quoted Einstein, are you saying that Einstein was not one of the greatest geniuses to have ever lived? Who has the lack of reasoning now? Me or team troll? Here's a deal. Reread theses threads, and give me one paragraph demonstrating you can think logically, without committing any fallacies at all. Then I will explain to you why this last post (assuming questions are rhetorical) from you is nonsense. |

If my credibility is destroyed with you because I quoted Einstein, are you saying that Einstein was not one of the greatest geniuses to have ever lived? Who has the lack of reasoning now? Me or team troll? The trouble with your quote from Einstein, purportedly a debate with an atheist professor, is that it NEVER HAPPENED. It matters not one whit whether Einstein was the greatest genius of all time or not-- your facts are in error, and following them up with namecalling does your argument exactly NO favors either. -Kerry O. |

You guys are a waste of time... Your intelligence is limited by your lack of ability to be open-minded.

You guys are a waste of time... Your intelligence is limited by your lack of ability to be open-minded. I didn't think you were up to the task. KerryO might have more patience than I do, since he took the time to explain to you part of why your post was nonsense. He is doing you a favor. You can learn, or not, its up to you. |

somehow a story about einstein seems like it would more likely be made up for the internet as opposed to someone actually doing research to prove the story wrong. its just an internet story, as real as unicorns, the loch ness monster, and god |
