Why is it leagly for the black panther to intimadate people that wish to vote in a free country. The DOJ want to drop the case but we all know that the prez Oboma is the one that is the biggist RASIST in this country. Yeah, there was a lot of anti-white racism motivating the earliest black panther party. And i'm sure you could still find some racists wing nuts involved today - but is this your basis for judging the entire organization, and all the people involved with it?

I think black panthers were as motivated by anti-white racism as the tea party is by anti-black racism,,,,

the panthers were a result of discrimination , police harassment, and police corruption which was often willing to overlook the crimes that happened in poor black neighborhoods

the panthers got together to give these communities the protection others wouldnt,,, Im sure that was a prime foundation to draw in many anti white racists,, but I disagree that anti-white racism was the motivation for the panthers to form as much as anti white-racism was.

I guess it wasnt too legal since police took the suspect away. Many things are illegal but dont get prosecuted because there isnt sufficient EVIDENCE to prove they occurred,

I didn't say that anti-white racism was a motivation for the BPP to form. Its not like a bunch of black people said "Hey, we all hate white people, right? Lets form a club for hating white people!" I agree that there were very real problems created by white people and white racism which the BPP was seeking to address.

People are driven by their emotions, and I submit that hostility towards whites was one of many emotions that was drawn upon to motivate action, to recruit members, and to create group cohesiveness in the beginning. My impression is that the group and its leaders matured over time.

I do not assume that the modern BPP has much at all to do with the original BPP.

Also, I disagree strongly about comparing the tea party to the BPP. I mean, in both cases racism is present, and in neither cases is it 'all about racism'. As far as degree of racism being present, though, I consider the presence of racists in the tea part to be more peripheral, and the presence of racist in the BPP to be more central. I don't say this as a criticism of the BPP - times were different then, and the mistreatment of blacks at the hands of whites was pretty extreme.
