The part of Boston where I grew up the majority of businesses were bars & barber shops/hair salons , needless to say we were drunks with great hair cuts

I remember drive-thru liquor stores in Texas. There were no limits. Get a single beer, or a case, or a kegger. Although at that time, I also lived in a dry county, but we did have a social club that you could join for the low price of a dollar a month, and they'd let you byob to a party. Funny thing.. The closest town with any booze was named Ireland, Texas.

 I never even thought about the fact that a State Store would sound weird to anyone!

Pick up couple 1/5's of crown ... prob a pucker or two make some... Washington apples and prob a bottle of low budget champagne what do you usually pick up ? and all the people ...that gonna say what the He double hockey sticks is a state store we can't buy our liquor same place we buy our slushie's in PA 
same way here in texas, tho they are not "state stores"... beer and wine we can get in wet counties at any grocery or convenience store, but liquor is only at the liquor stores. |

I'm headed to Whole foods in a bit actually! I only go to convenience stores for gas. I am buying: - Tofu - Yogurt - Veggies - Fruit - Cheerios - Fermented cow’s milk; you know you want some! - Popcorn kernels for the air-popper I am craving BBQ’ed portobello mushrooms and tofu kabobs for dinner tonight! omg thats illegal here in texas...

What is a state store? In Cali we buy booze anywhere and everywhere... with booze stores for specialty beer/wine/liquor. It's true, last time I was in Cali I bought tequila at Toys R Us |

I also have NEVER heard of "state" stores!!!!!
we can buy beer/alcohol about anywhere here........... and in the town next to me, they have DRIVE THRU liquor stores!!!! 
Now HOW SWEET is that!!!!!!!
